Best range? Please be specific. On one tank of gas? One day of driving? What are you trying to show in your picture?

When I bought an M3 my thought process wasn't "how many MPG can I get out of this sucker".

+1 it's a rare occasion to see close to 200 for a tank.

Guys, let me make one thing abundantly clear. Anyone in their right mind who bought an M3 isn't looking for state of the art fuel economy. I bought this car to have fun. But when I am driving home from a long day at work on one of the most heavily infested Highways full of CHP officers, the last thing I am going to do is "Drive it properly" I am not purposefully driving so my engine takes small little sips of the fuel. I am driving like a bloody law abiding citizen and being shocked at how high the range goes because of that. Bloody hell everyone gets so uptight, if you don't like the thread don't comment, just settle down far out.

Isn't that 340 in your picture, how many miles remaining on the gas you have left in the tank?

It would be nice to have cylinder deactivation like GM does for those long, boring highway trips. Other than that, I'm good for about 16 MPG.

320 miles is my highest, 260miles(average) a tank is pretty easy to do as my commute is 90% highway and drive it 5 times a week.

When it's full, it usually says 330-340 and my average is 17.5 mpg. So anywhere from 180-250 miles per fill up. I drive it plenty hard. On the track I get about 3-5 mpg depending on the track.

You'll get the most gas in your tank when its cold outside (60 degrees or below) because petrol molecules shrink in cold temps so you can get more in your tank, as it gets warmer, the molecules expand with your gas tank.

Just a hunch..
