Advice needed...want to go catless. Help!!! :)

This is what I want keep the stock rear for now and go catless. I also don’t want any issues so probably need tune as well. I want my car to sound better + hp gains!

Please help me decide with all the options out there.
Vendors/fellow members with similar setups please give me brief specs on the following.. Gain + cost and if videos are available for this setup.

Riss Racing
RPI
AA
Gintani
Encore Innovation

Have i missed out any other most recommended brand?

Help is greatly appreciated!!!

I think exhaust must be the number one most discussed topic on this board

^ It's one of the most exciting topics as well...hehehe

OP: Go for either AA or Gintani. I've heard good things about both companies and their products.

If you're just looking for mid-sections, I'd just go with the lease expensive one that people have said fits tightly since any gas leaks can set off a check engine light.

They're all stainless and most can be completely catless or HFC. The RISS unit allows you to go back and forth, which is nice.

You could consider the Dinan x-pipe, I think its ready for delivery this week...4 resonators to eliminate drone, no cats, and they have a moderate performance tune that also takes care of any CEL caused by the cat delete. If you call them, I hear that they have a intro discount on it and the tune.
I'm getting mine in a little over a week....

It's still a toss up, but I'm expecting to make a firm decision and purchase by this month's end.

I'll make a pretty good thread(s) with pics and reviews of everything I get.

No it will not pass smog in CA (or probably any state). It's a racing product and not legal for sale or use on a pollution controlled vehicle. It also requires, according to their webpage, racing software. The mid pipe is $2299.00 and the software another $999.00.

The racing software repeats the "doesn't pass smog" warning.

So you're looking at well over 3K for this--maybe there's an intro offer if you call them, I don't know--but it's not on their "specials" page and you'd think it would be if they were cutting deals. You could, I suppose, get the mid-pipe only but it doesn't look like that realizes the potential of the upgrade.

Whether Dinan or other options/other vendors upgrades for the M3 are pricey!

The 'racing software' is basically the earlier released performance flash with the addition of coding to eliminate the CEL that would be caused by the cat delete..

The midpipe itself is rated at 25 hp - 21lbft without the addition of the software, but you would have a CEL unless you bought an different defeat mechanism.

The midpipe with the flash would get you about 33 hp(crank rated) increase..

Have you looked at the Fabspeed Performance Package? You get HFC race primary cats, no secondary cats/Xpipe, and with or without resonators. I am really thinking about this and from all reviewed the gains are very good and sound is too.
