M drive isn't a "diff setting." Changes throttle mapping/response as well as a few other things, quite similar to dynamic mode in the new S4

You mean the M differential Lock. Yes, it's all the same BS regarding the names. However, you seem to be here just provoking controversy and playing symantics with every post.

I guess it goes back to Something GRAIDER said a few months ago that was brilliant: "There's no one on the Audi forums because they're all here."

it's doing great... you know, adjusting throttle response and all.

I think your silly jab was meant to imply "M-diff"

one in the same in my book. sport diff, ads, and m drive are all the same in my book. all adjust suspension (not with the sport diff option), throttle response, and the diff. it wasnt a "silly jab" it was an educated jab. mmmk?

the 335i? or the m3? my argument is that what kills the 335i for me is the rear 1 wheel spin. makes exits slip annoyingly unpredictable. m3 however is a bliss.

You guys seriously have way too much time on your hands. Go do something productive instead of sitting on BMW and/or Audi forums arguing about which of the two is better.

You guys seriously are way too sensitive about little things. I'm really not on the forums all that much anymore and don't miss em much to be honest.

In fact I did: washed the M3, applied a coat of wax, took pics, rotated the tires on my wife's car, and helped her with lunch.

I am talking from experience, driven both cars. Don't find 335 to be unpredictable at all, but good AWD will always have its advantages.
For me there is just no connection between the driver and machine, most probably because of artificial steering feel.

In the end, each to his own. Same as colors, women and many other things, its just a matter of taste.

the death of the 335i is that its rear is unpredicatble, so im sorry its not "way more fun"

as for communication, you relying on the article or real life experience? the s4 is awd, which like a 335xi, suffers in communication because of the front diff being driven. with that said, with the active diff, the s4 much more predictable and stable in its transitions, be it in comparison to a 335i or 335xi. its a trade off of awd.

i stand by my point 335i < b8 s4 < m3.

how bout this, the diff would make the car much better, and theres a big obvious reason why the m3 has a locking/active diff, k?

No arguments here, would make 335 a lot better in handling department. It should have been an option offered

As an S4 owner, I wouldn't lie if I didn't feel a little regret when I pull up next to an M3. The e90 M3 is the epitome of a sports sedan. When I purchased my B8S4 the only other car that I considered was the M. The M3 is faster, more agile, and overall more rewarding to drive. However, what it ultimately came down to was the fact that I needed a daily driver that could get through any weather condition. Hence the purchase of the S4. After 15K miles I can say I absolutely love the car. It give me 90+% of the performance of the M3, and its a little tractor in inclement weather. I haven't had a single issues with its reliability and the car was nearly 20K less then a simarily optioned M3.

So yes I get a little sad when I pull up next to an M3 but then I look at my Penguin alcantara seats and turn up the ridic B&O system and think to myself I still got it pretty good.

I love my M3, but when my sister bought a 2011 S4 the same week i bought my M, I was actually surprised. I drove it, and holy christ, that thing boogies!! very nice paddle shift tranny, quick response with the supercharger, overall very comfy and sporty car. I LOVE the interior of the S4, very useful and easy to use at that. Great car, but of course the M takes the cake. not because its faster, but because its an M.

The purists may not tick the awd option

And then I will be faster with my xDrive M3 than the purists

because let's be honest, it requires a great amount of skill to drive fast a high-powered RWD car...
