I should have been more specific, but in cold and freezing temps, i always give the car 5 mins, OR until the revs settle like i said, either or.. I like to make sure the oil has had time to get some flow and get to its areas of importance in such cold weather esp with such a importance on rod bearings.
Im warm weather, i usually start her up in the AM, revs drop a lil from coldstart, and i leave.

Do BMW's come with car starters? My wife's car has one and it's awesome. I don't care what anyone says.

But on my car, I drive it right away, I'm not messing up that beauty!

You're doing more harm running her for 5 minutes in the cold weather. It's prolonged time spent cold than necessary. Like the BMW manual says, start the car, buckle up, and drive easy until oil temps warm up.

+1 on this thread becoming a gif thread.
