I let a friend "try it" on my car to show me how much less work it was than my Motive system and he never stopped. I eventually had to intervene and show him that if we switch to using the Motive, the bubbles would stop. Sure enough, suddenly there was no longer air in my brake system.

True. You will see air bubbles when using a vacuum bleeder. It's what happens when fluid flows out of a small orifice into a larger diameter tube.

The bubbles will be consistent. You're looking for bigger air bubbles or disruption in the flow near the bleeder fitting which would be air leaving the brake system.

This is basically what I do, I'm too much of a weakling to torque wrench them in the air
Just use a torque stick. It will get you in the ballpark. I have a green 80ft/lb stick for the lug nuts. I just pull the trigger and blast the nut on.

Once you're at ~80 ft/lb...the fastener no longer turns. It's idiot proof.

More accurate than the people who go for a second click or they turn the torque wrench like its a breaker bar and go another 1/8 turn after the click.

I don't torque them in the air, it's unnecessarily complex method in my opinion. I don't think it has anything to do with strength.

I have read mixed reviews on torque sticks. Even good ones like matco or snap on. Not sure I want to rely on one except maybe as a safeguard to prevent me from overtorquing when I spin the nuts back on, since I would catch error with the torque wrench in final tightening.
