A lot of nice stuff on the car however.
the tranny in our cars is exactly the same tranny as in the M5 and M6, so there are no issues with torque or HP constraints. Also, there was a great video done by gustav or something like that on the m5board where he interviewed steve and they talked about the entire bore and etching process. They do the same thing as bmw does. They use all oem manufac parts ie mahle pistons etc, though they are custom parts. I watched to 30 minutes or so of videos and I gained a high level of respect for dinan and the R&D they go through.

I still wonder where they get their 2k price points for everything

LOL, someone needs to learn how to drive stick. I could use a stopwatch to measure the delay between gears...

Does anyone know if they do any top end work (ie enlarging intake/exhaust ports/larger valves, or even larger cams) or is this just like their S85 strokers which are stock top ends on larger bottom ends--which just lower power/torque peaks, killing high rpm power but also making more torque due to the inches alone.

5-angle valve job only, no additional head work or aftermarket valve train parts.

it's out of topic and stupid question, but is it possible to swap the X5M and X6M engine and transmisson?

Anything is possible if you have enough money...

That doesn't mean it's a good idea though.

Agreed!

I bet this thing comes with a hefty price tag...

IMHO the E9x M3 should have came with close to 400lbs of Tq. originally from the factory.
at least 350 IMO... Nevertheless This is a great package Dinan has put together. I just cant wait
to see the price, Man its gonna be Hefty!!!!

UPDATE: I went on the website and saw the price!!!! WOW!!! 20k... Link Below...
When you go to the home page, You will see the ad come up at top in a min. and it has the price on it! Says Only 1 is Available as of now!

to the people that don't know this, but when Dinan warranty a product they stand behind it; even when the warranty runs out. Case: E36 M3 with a Dinan S/C package. The vortech unit went bad 5k miles after the warranty had run out. Talked to Dinan, they replaced the unit and didn't even spend a dime! I bet if you went to some "other" tuners, they will give you the boot. I am always partial to them because their product is not designed based on "COPY AND PASTE" system. Sure, anyone can do that. Their R&D perform extensive and numerous tests prior to selling a product. Dinan is not for everyone! If you can't afford it, buy something else.

The transmission may handle it, but no one's mentioned if the rear end will.?

Looks like a nice setup, I'm sure the engine is great. I'm not a fan of the suspension though, it's not low enough to justify spending the money on it. I'm not a fan of slammed cars but you can certainly lower a bit more which I like and improve suspension capabilities with numerous other choices out there. Just my opinon

Dinan Bores the Blocks In House

Dinan actually bought a very expensive NC machine and bores the blocks in house. I don't recall if the bores are etched in house or by a third party.

they have done extensive tests and with it lower it didn't handle any better and the ride was harsher. same for there stage 3 JRZ susp i had on my E46 M. it handled better then any other E46 M with the exception of a Moton set up i drove but that was more track only, where mine was comfortable daily but handled better then most any other susp set up that was lower

any lower is more for looks then anything else. i have ridden in a couple E92 M's with different spring susp set ups and the ride was horrible
