Oil low with only 2600 miles

Hi all, I've had several bmws (first e9x m3) and some of them have needed their oil topped off, no biggie. None of them have needed a top off this early though. Light came on at 26xx miles today. Car was broken in perfectly and rarely sees much action. This normal for the e9x m3s? thx in adv

You had the break in at 1200..then the low oil came on at 2600? I don't know but that seem pretty fast. Add a qt and see if this happen again at 4000.

do you remember where the marker was when you got your car back after the 1200?
