On the morning of the 5th of May, it read 19.1 . In the evening of the 5th of May, after four heats at a Track Day, it dropped a bit... to 16.5
Slowly creeping upwards again. S l o w l y . . . Someone else posted the phrase "lying trip computer" and I think he's got a point -- I should probably record the miles and gallons and see how accurate that running average is. .

I just checked the app I use on my phone (car minder) and I have a 16.87 average over the last 3 months (actual), so yeah, it's probably a little optimistic. (not to start a gas thread, but I use Shell V 93).

Less than 3 MPG... not commuting but when we were racing at Road America for One Lap of America we ran out of gas two turns before the finish line.
We had about a 1/3 tank. It was a 4 lap run. So 16 miles, 1/3 tank, assuming 18 gallons full. 18 div 6 = 3. We were locked for 8th overall and the DNF bumped us down to 12th. How embarrassing. |
