Replacement Tires - Need Advice
Gents - I have an '11 M3 Vert....OEM 19 rims. Car came with the Conti Sport 3's. I am approaching 15K miles, and while the fronts are still OK, I am on my second set of rears. These tires suck.
So, since I am mainly a daily driver with the car, the car has a Dinan stage II suspension set-up, whcih likely exaccerbates the tire wear. that said, what is the consensus on a good replacement tire, for an aggressive, yet daily driver set-up? I live in Florida, so I need good wet/dry benefit Thanks much |

I vote for PS2's or RE-11's in stock sizing. Just be sure that you replace all 4 with the same tire once you make your final selection.

I do not vote for PS2s...
If you want a friendly street set up that's an improvement over PS2s and cheaper to boot, go for PSS for sure.

PSS are MUCH better than PS2. Go with either 255/275 or 245/275.

Thanks guys seems like consensus is the PSS (I assume that is pilot super sport?) also, if I am running OEM rims, what are the pros/cons of "plus sizing" the tire size?I still have the stock rubber size on as well

I'm assuming you have the 220M as you have a convertible (so no ZCP)
Upping the size will provide better traction in the rear and better turn in response (among other things) 255/35/19 275/35/19 is the sizes I've seen people up to

I recently installed a set of PSS in 275/35-18 and I think it is a very good tire. But I have the ContiSport 3 on the OE wheels, and frankly, I think it's a good tire also. Don't expect a night/day difference. The Michelin has better wet grip, and probalby a bit more absolute dry grip. The Continental feels like it has stiffer sidewalls and a bit sharper turn in response.

look at tire rack's latest test, 1.07g dry the conti may be an ok tire but the PSS is significantly better in my book. stiffer sidewalls? really? i think mainly the car feels like it rolls more because it has so much more grip it induces body roll before it loses traction car may feel more responsive and fun to drive on conti's due to the lower limits |

I'm not a fan of plus sizing thus my recommendations are stock sizing for the 220M.
Get the RE-11 - I just mounted a set and they are perfect!
