removing cf splitters and spoiler

Hello, since I am getting rid of my e90 m3 I was considering selling my cf splitters, spoiler, and mirror caps.

Problem is that the splitters and spoiler were glued by the dealer.... any idea on how I can take them off?

I dont want to put them under hot air and possibly ruin the clear coat in the process...

If you can get them off, that adhesive is pretty good stuff. It's gonna be tough not to damage the paint and the carbon bits in the process. Probably best to sell as is. The mirror caps are fairly simple to remove. Pop the glass off and release the tabs from from inside the mirror to prevent damaging them.

Use a hair dryer and some fishing line.
You will not damage the paint or clear coat. The dealer most likely used double sided tape.
The mirror caps pop right off.

This is probably not the case. If installed at the dealer, they most likely used a special industrial adhesive that BMW sells called Betalink. It will not come off very easily at all. In fact , I have heard that you will break the CF piece before you will break the adhesive bond. I used Betalink to install my CF parts, and this is what BMW specs for installation.

Leave it as is.

You're going to run the risk of damaging your paint which will cost more to fix than you'll get out of selling the parts. Especially if they're damaged in the removal which will leave them pretty much worthless. I think you'll be doing yourself a huge favor by just leaving it alone and selling as-is.

Dealer definitely used betalink. Best bet is heat and fishing line. If it doesn't give....I would abort the attempt. You won't damage the paint but you may well break the spoiler in half if you pull too hard.

Has anyone played with betalink after it has set up? It seemed rather permanent like epoxy. As such, it's permanent.

I would leave them on also. I tried removing the splitters before selling my last car, but the damn Betalink made sure they weren't coming off.
