POLL: Were your rod bearings in good shape when replaced?
It's claimed that only a small percentage of M3's experience accelerated rod bearing wear. In an effort to answer the question of what percentage of M3's have accelerated rod bearing wear, I've devised this simple poll: If you have had the rod bearings replace, what condition would a technician say they were in when removed?
Please include the year of your car, assessed condition, mileage, oil change habits, and approximately how many track days the engine had seen, if any. Year: 2008 Condition: Worn to the copper Miles: 123k Oil Changes: Every 10k Miles Tracked? None.

Good idea OP, thanks for starting the poll and thread. Sub'd for results. Haven't changed my bearings yet so I cannot contribute.

My car is 2011 with 41k miles at the moment. I am probably going to do it sometime this year before Summer. I will keep this post updated with poll and picture once it is done.

Hear alot of bad feedback about clogged oil filters, or it all ending up in the filter regardless. Hows it treated you

I haven't had any problem with it. In fact, my mechanic said the engine was very clean. Based on condition of engine and bearings, I can't see how it has had any detrimental effects at all. I've used it in all my BMW's, and my mech swears by it.

Did mine at 30,000ish and I felt the wear was a little extreme. We will see when I pull my VAC bearings at 130,000. I plan on doing them every 100,000 if my replacement bearings look as bad or worse as the originals I pulled.

Where can you purchase Molyslip online if in the US? Do you just replace one quart of motor oil with it? I've been using the OEM oil and will that be fine to continue with it if using Molyslip?
