iirc cruise control automatically turns off when there is slippage. vaguely remember that happening in the e90.

Cool I thought I recognized the surroundings

I snapped mine in München I climbed all the steps to the top of the "Alter Peter" Kirche I'm sure you been there before if not next time you are in München you can clim to the top it's a great view from the top It is right near the Rathouse (City Hall) also a great place to visit ... you cannot miss it here is a taste of what you see when you clim all them steps to the very top

Once one has done that one deserves a nice cool beer or two along with a great meal in the Hofbräuhaus

It's mainly used for drifting. You weld the spider gears so the wheels are pretty much locked together so they always spin at the same speed and with the same amount of torque. Google "welded diff rain" and you'll find an encyclopedia of horror stories.

A lot of track cars run welded diffs, even a factory backed Porsche race car baxk in the day. Welded > LSD for drifting (I'm talking about drift events, not your typical high school punk who likes to power over u-turns)
