Starter/solenoid issue?
For the past couple of weeks, my M would take 5-10 tries to start, but as of yesterday the car has refused to start.
All electronics/lights still turn on but the engine gives a clicking noise and nothing more. How do I go about diagnosing the problem? |

Check your battery voltage. It should be ~ 12.6-12.8 right at the battery posts in the trunk. If the voltage is low, charge the battery and try to start the car.
If after charging the battery this happens again, have the battery load tested to see if it needs to be replaced. All starting issues need to have the battery/charging system verified before proceeding any further with troubleshooting. |
