BMWCCA Edition: 1 of 1 built and you can't buy it.
Haven't seen a thread on this yet.
http://www.bmwcca.org/node/5817 But Satch, I hear you asking, couldn’t I just order up an M3 coupe of my own to the same specifications? No, you can’t—because the guys at BMW of North America have done some lobbying on our behalf, and the wizards at BMW Individual seem to have worked a little magic of their own. First of all, there are the additional M Performance options: Start with the Electronic Performance M Steering Wheel. Add a carbon-fiber front splitter and rear-deck spoiler. On the interior, let’s make it Piano Black trim; good luck trying to special order that item yourself! Oh, and just to make sure your fellow members know how special your M3 is, that trim will be engraved with the BMW CCA map logo. It’s also embroidered in the front headrests. There’s a dash plaque denoting the car as #1 of 1 BMW CCA Limited Edition M3 Coupe. And the door sills will read BMW CCA. Still think you could order up one of your own? Or are you ready to buy a raffle ticket? Just remember, this is the BMW CCA edition, so don’t look for any paddle-shifters on the steering wheel. I don’t care how wonderful the seven-speed double-clutch transmission may be, because this car comes with a proper six-speed manual. How special is that?!

curious color selection for the interior....Bamboo Beige. it seems if you had the choice of any color to pick from to make a special edition, you'd go for an individual interior color choice. given that it would most likely be rare.
i know it's not the most popular interior color out there either. maybe that's why they chose it... it would at least be more unique, if for some reason you couldn't go individual. Last edited by Hyperjack; 05-12-2013 at 09:42 PM.. |

I bought a few as well. A coupe and sedan in the same color would look nice together. Maybe then I would let my wife drive one

The month you buy your ticket is also meaningful... for every ticket you buy, you get entered into a second drawing as well to win some additional prizes:
Time your ticket purchases carefully! May 1-31 - Priority Club Reward Points valued at $1000 for IHG Hotels June 1-22 - $1000 Michelin Tire certificate June 23-July 12 - $1000 Shell V-Power Gift Card (which you clearly need for your 14mpg M3) July 13-26 - $1000 Best Buy Gift Card July 29-Aug 9 - $1000 Amex Gift Card

Not that I would refuse a free M3, so don't get the wrong idea. But what exactly is so "ultimate" about this car? After reading the title, I thought it was gonna be some stroked out, or supercharged, stripped out, heavily modified, lightweight track monster. But it seems like just a regular off the shelf M3, with some different paint and a few stickers, just like all the other "limited editions" that came before it.

Unlike the Lime Rock, this one is numbered 1 of 1.

The E46 M3 CSL was a true limited edition. It had unique and bespoke performance enhancing parts that were unavailable otherwise, and it was produced in limited numbers. The E9x generation doesn't have any real limited editions other than the GTS/CRT. If VW was to produce a million Beetles, and then pull 10 cars out of that million and put a sticker on them that says "Number x out of 10". Would that make those 10 cars a limited edition? |

BMW has never put out a limited edition E92 in "some stroked out, or supercharged, stripped out, heavily modified, lightweight track monster"....at least not in the states. what made you think they would've just started to now? it's a little tiring to hear these constant criticisms of BMW's limited editions. people seem to be confused with having a limited edition specked out to what they want to that item not worthy of being a limited edition. all it takes for something to be a "limited edition" is for that manufacture to to set a limit of the items production and authenticate that in some way. that's it. you may not like special stickers, added equipment and/or fancy paint. fine....just don't complain that isn't really a limited edition or it's some sort of rip off for being called so. now, if BMW charged some exorbitant premium for these....that's worthy of some hate. to my knowledge, the frozens or the LRPs have all been MSRP'd accordingly.dealers may want to add mark up.....but none of us have to pay that. granted this rant is not aimed directly at you...just people who seem to bitch about these limited editions as if they are not worthy of the title.....BUT, your surprise that this wasn't specked to what you thought.....well, i find that amazement to be a little disingenuous.
