Initial D is one of those things that not everybody will enjoy, regardless if they're car enthusiasts or not. Firstly, you need to enjoy Anime. After that, you need to have an appreciation for Japanese cars and a specific type of racing... not for everybody lol

Ya, its dubbed. I don't find it too annoying though.... The voice acting on this version isn't all that bad.

+1, maybe its because I am obsessed with cars, I don't know, but I think Initial D is just damn cool.

I haven't really kept up too much with Anime, but another goodie is Ninja Scroll if anyone is interested.

I see what you mean and that's cool, I mean, not everyone will like it, and in all fairness it does have some sub-plots that have little to do with racing....However the talking parts is where you get the backstory behind the race encounters, etc.

Cowboy Bebop > all others

Ninja Scroll is good. I'm also a fan of Rurouni Kenshin, Tenchi Muyo, Ranma 1/2, Gundam Wing, Gundam 0080.

Damn, I am a nerd

Edit: The 90's were the pinnacle of Japanese animation. So many good series/movies... Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Armitage III... nom nom nom

Dude I've seen all of those Animes more times than I can count!

Except Tenchi Muyo and Armitage III, only saw that once.

I've seen Gundam Wing and Rurouni Kenshin over a couple dozen times EACH.
Well, Kenshin eps over 60 or so I only saw once...those were boring and didn't really even follow the Manga.
I loved the OVAs

Ranma was hilarious. I never finished the last season
Mainly cause I never wanted the story to end so I didn't have the heart to watch it all.... Kind of regret it now..

I loved Cowboy Bebop.
CB was one of the Dubbed animes I actually liked. Though Japanese was better.

Ever watch Outlaw Star?

This is Toonami all over again lol

So sad I never got around to making my Wing Zero Custom Perfect Grade...the 10+ hour time frame scared me
I used to be so pro at making them.... I don't know if I have the skills to do it now..

Buahahaha, I do the same thing with shows that I really like. I held off on Cowboy Bebop and Battlestar Galactica (not an amine, but the best series that I've ever seen, no question), but gathered the courage to finish them.

I've seen some of Outlaw Star, but it's been so long that I don't remember much.
