Weighed the E92 as a baseline today.

Just went to the local scales today and weighed the 2012 E92 M3 to get a baseline before shedding weight on it. Before going I weighed myself at 155lbs. I thought it was supposed to be a 3588lbs+

With me in it and a half tank of gas, it weighed in at 3620. Which means 3465 with out me in it and a half tank of gas. Add 40lbs of fuel to meet curb weight specs, and its still 3505. I know scales vary, but 85+lbs is out of question.

It is a stock 2012 base, 6spd manual, bambo leather and premium 19" wheels. I put KW V3 coilovers on it last week, but I weighed all components, and found that the KWs combined weighed 5lbs more than OEM combined. The previous 1st owner took delivery of it in Germany and drove it to the docks, but said it was a US spec car.

Any idea on the discrepancy? Anyone else have one that came that light? Is the 3588+ curb weight figure for dct?

Wow that's light!

I just had mine corner balanced and it came in at 3569lbs w/o driver and 1/2 tank of gas. Mine is a E92, manual, premium pkg with cloth and power seats, MPE and KW Clubsports.

My 6MT E90 M3 weighed in at 3563lbs w/o driver and 1/2 tank as well. I have KW Clubsports, and AE Performance Exhaust. Oh and it's a Slicktop.

Weird. Maybe I should go to another scale. I cant imagine they would be that off, but who knows.

Just curious but what does your registration weight say? Mine says 3726 and I assume that's with a full tank. I wonder if that's a general weight they slapped on.

Aren't the published weights assuming gas, driver, and 10kg of cargo?

3465lbs with half tank of gas is really low.
My car is a e92 stripper with no nav 6mt, I also have KW v3, 2 recaro spgs, rear seats removed, 18" te37sl, ap racing bbk, eisenmann race exhaust and with 3/4 tank of gas, my car weighs 3450lbs without driver.

I am going to got to the local truck stop and jump on the CAT scales, for a second reading. My Akrapovic just arrived, so I will try to weigh it again before changing anything on the car. I'll see if I can make it today, but it may be raining. If it is raining, I would rather postpone to another day as I don't want to add another variable with the car being wet. (10-20lbs of water weight)

You have manual seats right? That should account for quite a bit of weight.
