How many track days per year are you running and are you running R-comps or slicks?

Thanks
The old bearing assemblies looked perfectly fine with no visible signs of wear. My only symptom was bad knockback (even on the street). The huge 380mm rotors probably amplify things too. If I still had the fully floating stock calipers on the car, I'd probably be on stock bearings for years to come.

I haven't really kept count of my track days with the car but it's safe to say that I've logged over 60 days on R-comps. Unfortunately an injury will keep me from hitting the track for at least 4 months so track testing will have to wait. My abandoned parking lot test showed marked improvement, so I'm hopeful that the fresh bearings and knockback springs solved my problems.

I'm not big on hitting rumble strips but our tracks our here do have lots of elevation changes and compression turns that really load up the suspension and bearings and cause noticeable knockback.
I also spoke with bimmerworld and their vote goes to knockback springs. They said they've seen few if any wheel bearing issues on the e90.
I certainly will keep an eye on my bearings though.
To answer your question from way back: my front right bearing was replaced due to a track accident at about 20k miles. Rear right bearing was replaced at 20k miles too, but it started making a clicking noise soon after and was replaced under parts warranty at 25k miles. Car currently has 29k miles.

What did you use the pull the hub? I have the SIR B90 tool set...hopefully that will work with the E9X.

I only did the fronts which come as fully assembled units. It's a simple 4 bolt r&r procedure that takes about an hour to do.

Yup, the fronts are just bolt-on jobbers, easy-peasy. The rears are probably a minor nightmare

I'm happy to report that the combination of knockback springs and new hub assemblies cured my knockback on the track. It's barely noticeable now vs the 50% pedal travel I previously experienced. I'm relieved to know that the knockback I experienced isn't normal. Confidence in braking is a wonderful thing!
