Amazing video, great job and nice car (the EVO).

I really hope that this car sounds better with a full exhaust than the E39 M5 (sounded too Mustangy/Camaroesque) The clip from youtube.com (type in "Roadfly M3 revving") gives promise to a better sound..you can hear the car rev up several times at the geneva show.

if they wanted real world testing, they would just CAMO the entire thing. if they wanna generate hype, they do that by putting no camo at all (except taking off the emblems) and then using a vibrant paint color like montego. they can still "test" the DST but they are defintely trying to get some publicity while doing so.

??

That would cost MORE resources to hide the car and would draw MORE attention if they had skirtings and camo veils, than just a few pieces of black tape..!

The "average joe" wouldn't notice the car in front of them had some black tape or wouldn't even care. The M3 design and concept is out... they don't have to hide anything, thus while the test the do not.

The car comes out in 4 months..!

i typed the response in less than a minute im not proof reading, the color name is interlagos blue (or whatever) as far as im concerned its just blue.

the point is, if they needed to test it, they could absolutely do so in a non-urban setting, in a less loud color like black, i beg your pardon, JET BLACK... or ALPINE white. they neednt do it in the daytime either. im not saying its wrong to create publicity, but you saying theyre not asking for attention is like saying the woman dressed in a miniskirt and tubetop isnt trying to draw attention, shes just testing out her new boobjob.

No problem, here was hope to get a first impression from a car magazine sooner than thought. But okay, let's wait the da** month for that.

You don't get the point, that's a FEP car from the preproduction. Most important part of that stage of testing is to see how good the production works and where are bugs/errors/faults left. This will be done for all variations of colours and equipment. It's part of the last testing stage not a act of creating a hype. BMW "drives" with black testing cars as long as possible.

Best regards, south

yes, they must "test" interlagos blue, because it is new color right?

god forbid it melts or something. (even though it has been used many many times already)

point is, there are many ways to interpret their reasoning to use a bright showy color with absolutely no camo, your guess is as valid as mine, dont act like you know their incentive, but u are free to think what their incentive might be, just as i am.

I did tell you their incentive, it's up to you to believe it or not. I couldn't care less...

southlight, explain again why are they using interlagos blue with no camo as the test car again?

There are far more effective ways to generate hype than to drive a car around with no logos on it! LOL. Do you really think this would sell one more M3? southlight has it right.... looked like a final product to me, now they are testing it on public roads.

I can tell you in my + or - 30 min of following him, no one cared about the car except me. There was one driver in a 335i coupe that looked, but he didn't seem too interested.

The idea that they are driving this car around to create publicity is an absolute joke. Who was it that suggested this again?
