laptop problem please help!

Hey i just bought a Toshiba Satellite A 205 and i noticed that there might be a problem with the CD/DVD drive.it plays discs fine but it makes a loud robotic servo sounds...is this normal behavior?

Yes. Some CD/DVD drives are more chatty than others. Usually has to do with the quality of the drive and the design of the computer. Most are insulated from the rest of the case with rubber washers to prevent vibrations and reduce noise.

Usually drives that have a tray that comes out are louder than say a drive that you push the CD into a slot (such as on a macbook pro ect)

yeah, if the slide out is a dual expanding tray, then expect alot of noise. if you put some pressure on it externaly while the disc is in, it should minimize the noise. thats life bro. lol
