Trunk Lid

I have the Voistner CF trunk lid. I had BMW install this for me. Now about 4 weeks after it was installed it does not securely hold fast to the latch. At first it did but I must slam the lid shut to make it catch.

Does anybody have any pointers for me to take a look at to see if I can fix this myself?

Adjust the stop buffers (the two knobs on both sides of the lock). Turn them clockwise. The CF lid will be harder to close because it does not have as much momentum/weight compared to the OE.

Any idea how much less the Vorsteiner weighs?

The latch can also be adjusted very slightly...perhaps it wasn't tight enough and moved down slightly.

When they installed the CF lid they did not reinstall the bumpers, they said they were not needed.

Any other ideas.

Fold down your rear seat, get a flash light and climb into the trunk. Inspect if the latch has any interferences.

You can also raise the height of the latch on the car. Just loosen the screws and raise or lower the metal latch as needed.
