Damn hurricane
For you boys up in the northeast, If we actually see what the forecasters are saying then we are screwed. I have two huge trees right on each side of my garage. As well as a ton of trees lining both sides of the street by my house. Now Im pretty damn worried about where the hell to park my car. for those that are not parking in a concrete covered lot, what are you guys gonna do.

Looks like underground parkings might have a risk of flooding too. Stay safe!

anyone needing a dry (and hot as hell) place to stay is welcome to come out to arizona. i have 2 spare bedrooms (unfortunately no more garage spaces) which may not be as glamorous as some of the homes im seeing on here, but hey... offer is out there!
wishing everyone in the hurricane's path all the best in health and safety - as midwest said above, you need to be safe moreso than the car! you have insurance (hurry, make sure it covers the weather!) to replace the car!

mine is in the house garage. Hopefully it is fine there but my entire block is filled with dead trees that have done nothing but break. I've been calling 311 forever and they never did anything. the trees seem as if a little shit storm would bring it down let alone a hurricane.
stay safe... be smart.

Latest prediction according to weather.com shows it as a category one when it hits, then weakening to tropical storm levels as it moves northward. We should all be okay. I live about 70-80 miles inland and basically just moved all our deck furniture off the deck. Nothing more. My 12 and 14 year old daughters want to go outside and "lean into the wind"

Um yeah, we've had hurricanes come our way from the south and just rain on us, but this thing is serious. I've never seen them evacuate parts of Manhattan, ever.
I'm putting the M3 in the garage. The pathfinder will have to endure whatever Irene throws at her. Trees are a problem. A neighbor had a branch fall on top of her Corolla a few years back. They replaced the Corolla real fast though, with another Corolla. Be careful out there everyone! I haven't looked forward to Monday in a long time...

My M3 is in a fully enclosed garage in my house and there are no trees on my entire street. I still feel screwed.

I live about 40 yards from the water in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. My front door is elevated from the water. I'm up on a hill and there are stairs to my front door. I felt fine about it until the community association left a couple sandbags in front of my door facing the water.
I get to the office this morning and my General Manager asks if I'll be able to park. I look at him confused. He explains that he saw a news report that the city blocked parking for everyone in my neighborhood of Fells Point. Now I'm really worried. I have images of my Fire Orange M3 Sedan half under water in the garage. I'm moving it to one of the upper decks for sure. Be safe everyone! Regards, David

^dude, get your car out of there and put it on a high level garage. The storm surge is what can get you in trouble. Also, the big problem is if the electrcity goes out, the water pumps won't work. I would start moving valuable stuff out of the basement.
Also, they left a few sand bags on your front door?! how's that suppose to help, you need to completely surround your property with sandbags and enclose it with large waterproof tarp like this: |
