The thread has since been deleted...hmmmmm.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=722248 The thread was for the non-CF version of the Arkym front bumper. It was listed as PROMO price for members Being local, I asked him to PM me a price for local pickup, thinking I can save a few bucks on shipping. I get a PM quote for $1450 shipped. I'm told no local pickup because item will be drop-shipped. OK, acceptable answer (at the time). Fast forward, another forum member asks if the PROMO price is the same as the price on their website ($1300). I respond "same price". Sean sees my post and replies with a response. Calling me out on BS? That's how I took it. So I responded, "your website lists a price of $1300. You PM'ed me a quote of $1450 shipped, so I assume $150 for freight" Above-mentioned forum member says he got quoted from Sean $1300 shipped...and he's out of state! Where is the disconnect here? I'm local, offer to pick up, but am told I have to pay for shipping. But an out of state member who requires shipping gets quoted a lower amount? This is when the thread got deleted. You draw your own conclusion. I've already drawn mine Edit: Looks like he deleted the original thread and created a new one *SMH* : http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=724004 Last edited by tbone28; 07-27-2012 at 09:15 PM.. |

Good news is I caught it before I paid out...buyer beware, do your research. And to PYSpeed, some advice: I've been in the car game long enough to know that no one pays retail, MSRP, or whatever you want to call it.
The exact word that came to mind. Here's my deal, I'm sure many vendors give out different quotes to different buyers. There are many factors, I assume...from long-time customer discounts to competition, etc. However, if the price quoted to me is different than someone else, then transparency is the key. Sean could have easily explained why he quoted me higher than someone else. Instead, he chose to call BS to my answer (that the "promo" price was the same as the website's listed price). Perhaps, my answer was BS, cuz the price quoted to me was actually higher than the website's price. LOL. And to make matters worse, he chose to delete the thread. Those 2 actions, in my mind, are shady. And without trust, there is no business from me. There's a reason I've been going to Darwin@SonicMS for so many years now...he treats me right and with respect. He doesn't play me like an idiot and doesn't try to pull shady shz on me. You're welcome. The community needs to know. There are plenty of vendors to choose from.
Is everyone ready for this? I was asked last night by someone from within PYSpeed (not Sean) to take down this thread. |

There's way toooooo much competition, vendor-wise, to be treating prospective customers this way. I come over from the benz community and was shocked (but pleasantly surprised) at how many more vendors there are for BMW's.... $0.02
BTW, the request from PYSpeed to take down this thread was not accompanied by any explanation, excuse, or apology as to why 1) I got quoted differently 2) Why BS was called when I said the promo price is the same as the website's price 3) Why the thread got deleted. Yet, PYSPeed is willing to ask that the thread be taken down like I owe them something. |

How can there be communication when he deleted the thread??? That shows me he'd rather cover it up than communicate. oh please. As others have said, and as I also think, shady, very shady.

3 issues actually LOL
3) Going in a round about way to get me to take down this thread to save face....asking someone that I know to ask me to take down the thread. Sean can't even ask me directly, be it via PM, email, or phone to take down the thread. I mean, c'mon man! Never met this guy, never spoke to this guy, never bought anything from this guy, guy's never done anything for me, and I have to do him/PYSpeed a favor by removing this feedback? I owe him nothing. Feedback is just that, feedback, whether good or bad. You can't just CHOOSE to keep positive feedback threads alive, PYSpeed. It doesn't work like that. If you wanted all of your feedback threads to be positive, then perhaps you should train all of your sales reps to treat prospective clients properly. Easy concept if you ask me. |

it is possible that you were quoted more due to being in the same state and needing to pay tax. and the out-of-state buyer may have been closer to wherever the piece is being drop-shipped from. bad practice for them to just ask you to take down this thread without any kind of explanation.

It's odd that no one from PYSpeed has replied. Especially since they have been the subject of bad press threads recently. In for a response on this........Phil
