Performance Seats options...

Thinking about getting a set of performance seats but want to keep them the fox red color to match the rest of the interior. I was thinking of covering them in leather and alcantara any way of getting a hold of either of these two in this color?

Try IND. They covered a set of seats with factory leather.

Those are the seats that I want to get, I just want to keep the interior looking "stock". Its not really a big deal for me to re wrap them, I am planning on doing a decent amount of interior upholstery work over the winter months since the car will be sitting. Just wanted to know if I am going to able to get my hands on enough FR leather or Custom FR Alcantara.

Sportster CS seats are available in a Red/Black option, here's a set we installed in a MY11 MB M3 a while back and were pulled when the car was returned to stock:

This particular set just sold yesterday.

Just remember there is no way of installing the seats without completely disabling your passenger airbag. This should be advertised more aggressively as this is not something that everyone is comfortable doing.

air bags

No passenger airbags! That's a huge determining factor. Thanks for the info.

yea, this is quite a serious mod. i dont think i am fully comfortable with disabling the passenger air bag either. i think disabling the airbag would almost be criminal negligence on the owner's part if someone dies cos of that in an accident.

tom any update on the head rest restraint modules?

also if you want the bmw seats like i will in the future this is what you would need to do.

1. get the seats
2. get an oc3 sensor pad from tischer $500-550 or you can remove your oc3 sensor from original seat and install it into new and not need coding.
3. get the oc3 sensor pad coded $100 from my dealer
4. get the oc3 installed in the seat and have it reholstered
5. get the oem seat wiring harness to activate the heat seat option if you have like $100-200 i forgot which.
6. either live with the annoying head rest restraint sign that comes up on idrive if you have an 09+ model until someone comes with a module for it or if you have an 08 your good to go no warning messages on the i drive.

if you want to save money you can replace the oem bmw seats with recaro cs which is the same seat without bmw royalty price tag retrofit the oc3 sensor and your g2g but since i am on oem whore i will being the more expensive route.

of course they would. just say yours is broken or something. bring them the part and they have to code it to your car to fix the problem. what you can do if your really anal about it is have the new oc3 sensor installed in your current car seat have it coded and swap them out again.

myself, i have a great relationship with my dealer from body, sa, ca, and techs. so i have np and $100 is what they quoted me.

im not 100% sure but i think an independent shop can code the oc3 sensor using the gt1 (better ask tom on that).
