I’ve tried the usual YouTube stuff resetting brake pad intervals, push BC button, odometer button etc. but this PITA brake pads won’t go away, when i looked at the idrive on how much mileage is left on the auto counter for the brake pad warning it’s like the pictures, just dots and no display of mileage that’s left. Already tried cutting the brake pad sensor wire and connecting them closing the circuit but no luck, do i have to code it? Any ideas?

Looks like like your pads need to be reset first. Your display shows the service interval was reset but you still have the error. You know you have two front pad sensors. Disconnect them both and then reconnect them and then reset your brakes.

I have Performance pads whit no place for connectors, what i did is cut the sensor cable and then connected the two cabels inside for a closed loop but it didn’t work.
Found this post will try it tomorrow

For future readers whit the same problem.
I solved it by cutting the sensor wire about 1 cm from the sensor itself and connect the two small wires under the insulation to create a closed circuit, that’s two sensors in the front and one rear, (rear right side) and then disconnected the battery for about 5 min, works fine, no more freaking brake pad warning ever.

FOR PICTURES ETC SE THIS THREAD.

This is what Paradocs was suggesting in his thread:

"So just cutting and splicing isn't sufficient--apparently once you cut and splice, you then have to "trick" the system into thinking that you've put in new wear sensor cables by opening the black box, unplugging the receptacle for the cable (it's the top one of the two that are in there--the other one is the cable for the wheel speed sensor) and then plugging it back in. Now the system thinks you've installed a brand new sensor cable after having put in new brake pads"

You didnt have to do it? Just splice the sensor wires and disconnect the battery for 5 min?

If you just google "Reset BMW CBS" you'll find a few videos and threads over on E90Post that explain this clearly.

As for the wear sensor, I have all three of my wear sensors just disconnected. My understanding was that as long as you disconnect them before you trip them, you don't need to worry about them anymore.

Just cut and spliced all 3 brake sensors. Disconnected battery for 30 min.
Drove the car for a while, no brake light, no problem.
So, for those who want to do it, just follow these simple instructions, no need to disconnect and reconnect brake sensors.

When i searched around on YouTube and bmw forums there where a lot of stuff out there and most of it doesn’t seem to work when we are talking about performance pads, Paradocs thread was great help but I don’t think the unplugging of the connector does anything for the service warning, how could the car now if the connector have been reconnected when its turned off?? And it’s an ordinary plastic connector that they attached for easy access to change the pad sensor, there’s no electronics or sensors on there that would sense if you connected a new one. I tried resetting without disconnecting the battery and then it didn’t work and i didn’t unplug/reconnect the connector for the rear sensor and that one was also fine resetting after the battery reconnect, could be wrong:-) but i just think it’s a question of unplug the battery after the sensor cables are spliced and connected.
