WOW! Its going to be tough to beat this car.

Super fast! Cant wait to see lap times too.

126 mph trap is moving! That is about as fast as a 997 GT2 or 458 Italia despite significantly less power.

And 1.12 on skidpad has to be a record.

Amazing numbers, but why is 0-60 faster than 5-60 by 0.9 sec?

If it is correct when u launch you can start in the power band and from a roll @5mph you are at a very low rpm. This is the norm I believe

How to buy this car? I've searched all local dealers and no stock. It seems they only carry the 4 or 4s, few turbos, SUVs, loads of boxsters, Caymans, etc

Yeah, all US allocations have been sold out since March. I guess another year until we can see them on the used market or dealerships.

They don't take orders like BMW?

I'm just curious but isn't braking a little on the weak side? Or are most braking tests 60-0?

Only if they have an allocation given to them by Porsche. Cars are sold out until the end of 2014; MY2014 and MY2015s. There may be another round allocated. Only dealers with strong 911 sales get cars. The dealer I bought my last GT3 from (2010) did not get one. I had a back up dealer. Had been on their list for over two years. They always get GT3s and were allocated a couple this round. Mine will arrive Q3 2014 as a MY2015.

Consider the M3 brakes 70-0 in 156 ft; +/-

Ferrari's 458 147 ft.

911 turbo S 170 ft.

GT R 153 ft.

991 GT3 @ 135 ft, is excellent.

I noticed that you drive a 997 GT3 now.. Are you at all worried about the switch from manual to pdk?

I know there have been countless of reviews that all say they love it on the track and when it's pushed hard but miss the manual for everything else.

But I'm still curious to hear it from someone that isn't a journalist and drives the past GT3 which in my eyes is such an amazing car because of everything that it stands for like a manual gearbox.

I recently sold my .2 GT3 in anticipation of getting the 991 GT3 w/PDK-S. Certainly, I will miss the manual, but believe PDK-S will deliver the goods. I believe as it is with many things in life, there are trade-offs. Although, I may miss the lack of a stick, I am confident I will gain appreciation in other areas; handling for sure, 9k red-line, super free revving engine, bam, bam 100ms shifts (sound great too) rapid fire rev matched, down-shifts, etc. Car looks utterly fantastic imo, better than my beautiful .2. Yes, some journalists say they miss the manual, who wouldn't but they almost all say you may not miss it much or for very long, as the new PDK, purposely built for the GT3, is amazing on AND off the track.
