Not on my car but have driven another M3 with them. My experience was similar to the various comparison reviews... that is, the AD08 felt a little grippier and more responsive in the dry than the RE11 but were noisier and rougher. I did not drive them in the wet.

Anyone used both pss and re-11? Curious if the pss gets all greasy on the track like the ps2. If it doesn't seems like a good option as its 5lbs lighter

I have used both on the track and the RE11 are noticeably better in response, turn in, grip and have much better heat resistance than the PSS (which was better than the PS2) on the track. One of the biggest benefits of an AD08 or RE11 versus the rest is the stiffer sidewall because the M3 is no light weight. With a stiff sidewall comes weight. That is one of the reasons I bought lighter wheels was to offset the extra weight of the tires.

AD08's are much stickier than PS2's in the Dry.

They are noisier than the PS2's and they are less comfortable than the PS2's.

Good responses here on noise and wet traction. I think if anything that and sizes really are the difference between AD08's and RE-11's.

For my next set i'll be going RE-11's, just to try it out. (I drive about 30k a year.)

In all honesty, I really don't think you'd be disappointed with either tire. Pick the sizes, compare the pricing, and depending on what you heard and been wanting then choose.

I have read that the re-11 runs very wide.

Does abyone with experience with both think the re-11 in 265 size could be as wide as the ad-08 in 275 size?

Or do both run wide?

Have tried both.

In dry the performance is similar, and they won't get greasy as easily as the PS2.

In wet, RE-11 are better, probably due to the tread design. AD08 hydroplanes very easily.

Nonetheless, RE-11 tends to wear out much quicker if you don't have proper camber.

Yes. Especially the edges if you don't have enough camber.

I agree... the edges of the RE-11 wear out fast if camber or pressure is off.

Thanks everyone for the excellent advice and feedback.

I got a nail in the corner/sidewall of my rear tire which only had 4/32 tread left anyway and will be getting a new set of tires sooner than expected. I guess I will try to sell my fronts locally which still have 7/32 tread left.

I decided to go with the re-11 to stick with the stock sizes and also because my local firestone dealer had a fantastic price on these, easily beating tirerack which suprised me.

I should have them on sometime next week, and will be sure to post pics and initial impressions.

I sure hope they are a bit wider than stock and more squared than the ps2s, I prefer that look.

I am looking forward to a tire with a stiffer sidewall to eliminate some of that initial roll into corners this car has.
