I wanted to powdercoat my exhaust but after I saw an m6 with a powdercoated exhaust come back with the coating stripped from the track I was skeptical. I don't know why it stripped off but I'm guessing it was from the extreme heat of the exhaust.

No pics but we have a big coating space up the street, they do Jet Hot Coating on all kinds of exhausts. Just about any color you want, looks very nice and it will not come off. They also do ceramic coatings but that costs more than the exhaust.

I have the Megan exhaust. I had mine ceramic coated at a place called Powder 1 in San Diego. They did a pretty good job. I think they charged me around 200 but would have to double check.

The ceramic coating is pretty much a matte black. I like the look. It certainly isn't gloss black though. However it really completed the look for me as I have black wheels and black everything else on my MR coupe.

I need to wash my car. When I do I will post up a couple pics.

I was looking at the Megan exhaust but I want something loud. Is it loud with the stock xpipe?

I really like the Megan, I wish it was a little louder but I am going to do the primary cat delete so that will make it a little louder. The wife says it is loud enough but not annoying. So for me it works out pretty good. People can say what they want but it is good quality the welds are nice and fitment was perfect. It is missing a few metric nuts and bolts for the hangers but 5 bucks and a hardware store trip fixed that. I think I am going to have mine coated also. It does stand out from behind the car through the rear vent in the bumper, but hey they all do that.

I have he megan and I dont think its loud. I think its perfect. If you want loud, then the Eisenmann Race is for you. But for 500 bucks, you can NOT beat this exhaust.

Yeah, it's definitely louder than the stock exhaust. There is no doubt about that. The stock exhaust seems very quiet to me now. It is also significantly lighter than the stock exhaust.

You will likely need a few nuts and washers to fit the stock pieces. Mine (and it seems most others) didn't come with the required hardware. $2 at Home Depot should do the trick though. It's just a pain because you won't realize it until the stock exhaust is off the car and then you'll be stuck with a car without exhaust to drive to the hardware store. So, make sure you have another vehicle handy or get the required hardware beofrehand. I wish I had the required sizes for you but I don't.

I couldn't agree more. I've had my Megan for a month now and am pleased all the way around.

Was referring to the traditional oem mod (2 perforated pipes) not the ACM. I have the oem mod and love it but was curious how it compares volume wise to the Megan.

I thought my Megan was a little louder than oem mod. Be careful with the oem mod, one of them I heard had a rattle where something came loose. Try to listen for yourself if possible, i did. Internet sound clips dont give any mufflers justice.

It is, I have had the version 1 and sold it for the Megan, the megan is louder. I have also heard the acm one and I do not really like it, it sounds like a car with no muffler. I like the volume but not the sound.
