Vivid Racing Presents : The Ultimate E46 M3 Build

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Greetings!

I've been assisting a client for the last 9 or 10 months with his E46 M3 build. While it's not an e9x, I'm sure we can all appreciate the level this client has taken it to. Throughout this build, no expense has been spared. The M3 started off as a rather rough, completely stock example. Below I've provided a list of the items that have gone into this build, and a few teaser photos of where we're at currently. I'll keep this thread updated with photos over the next few months as the car finally comes together.

The Build List
Flossmann Street GTR Widebody Kit
VF570 Supercharger Kit - Turned up to 17lbs
VAC Built S54 - Full bottom/top end w/ custom cams - 9.0:1
HRE S101 - Brushed Dark Clear/Brushed Clear - 20x10 +13 / 20x12 +12
Toyo R888 - 285/35/20 - 315/35/20
KW Variant 3 Coilovers
Brembo GT 14" Front / 13.6" Rear - Painted Phoenix Yellow
DCT Motorsports Sport Steering Wheel w/ Carbon Fiber Trim
Supersprint Race System - Complete
Recaro Sportster CS - Driver/Passenger
Autopower 4 Point Roll Bar - Painted Phoenix Yellow
Driveshaft Shop Axles and Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
HPF Dry Carbon Vented Engine Cover
HPF Stage 1 Clutch (Capable of holding 700whp
Radium Engineering FST + Fuel Rail Kit, Catch Can, etc
Injector Dynamics ID1000
AEM Infinity-8 Stand Alone w/ AEM water/meth injection
Turner Motorsport - All new bushings, sways, and strut bars
Turner / Fluidyne Oil Cooler and Radiator Upgrade
UUC Evo3 w/ DSSR
RevoZport Carbon Fiber Door Panels - All 4 interior panels
AutoCarbon Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Kit

...and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting.

Car is currently being assembled at the client's preferred shop in Mexico. It will be Phoenix Yellow with lots of carbon accents. Pictures and further details to follow.

No doubt! Definitely my favorite HRE wheels I've built/sold to date. He even went for the carbon center cap option for an extra $150 each.

Yeah, those are stunning wheels. I totally fell in love with the finish, as well.

Could be a great track build with the widebody. What about some 315-18 all around instead and full cage not bolt in 4 pt.

This is purely a street car and toy. He's even gone as far as cutting the carbon door panels to have speakers installed. Super chill guy who just likes playing with cars.

Exactly.

He's also building a 2002 that he's making into a turbo clone, and I just helped him finish up his CLS500 with a complete WALD Black Bison kit. He's also got an old school Jeep of some sort that he's swapped an SRT8 Jeep powertrain into.

He's just a car nut in general.

This client is an independent business owner. I'm confident he wishes this build list only cost $20k, but the reality is the wheels alone were $11.5k and he's got roughly $20k into the engine build.

James, Im an independent business owner as well but I have mortgage on my condo, car payment, insurances, food, memberships, etc etc I wouldn't imagine spending another 30k CASH on a build until my condo or car is paid off

I feel like I'm missing a key piece of info here lol....

Yeah, well according to Kiplinger's report, the 1% income level (USA) in 2011 was $388k (or greater), so one out of every 100 folks in the US do have income to spare for some of the finer things.

1-percenters LOL all the way to the bank!

Doubt I would even bother with a Ferrari if I was one of those guys. I'd rather build some sick track cars outta m3, z06, gt3, and the like. Maybe the Ferrari can be for groceries.

Maybe he's a cartel with millions to spare and his accountant puts his income in the 1% bracket using shady accounting.. but then again, just a hunch
