Smile Got Dinan!

Just drove my 2009 e90 home with the following mods:flash, intake, exhaust, stage 2 suspension(will cover handling in suspension forum(hint it's amazing)
Impressions:

By far the most important benefit and one you will not realize you needed till you've gotten it is LINEAR throttle response-an absolute revelation-easier moderate speed launch and a feeling of direct control once moving- worth more than it costs to me.

Nice butt-meter increase in torque- along with a very noticable quickening of throttle response- doesn't QUITE push one back in one's seat but you no longer have to be at high speeds/revs to feel the engine is special-and it's just WAY more fun - the added exhaust sound which is deep and nasty and linear in it's relationship to engine speed certainly adds to the fun factor.

Sounds crazy but along with suspension the car for now feels ,vs. stock as much of an improvement as going from my Infiniti M45 to the stock M3(well maybe I'm just in love).

This is very interesting, as I am considering the very same Dinan add ons for my car. Keep the impressions coming.

Do you have Dyno info? I'm interested to see what the combination of engine mods equates to. Also, please comment on how your Dinan experience was. Many people (and dealerships) have commented how difficult and frsutrating it is to deal with them.

No dyno

Not into measuring cause it is what it is but it feels more immediate and torquer-great BMW dealer in Flemington NJ- I researched and decided what I wanted they ordered and installed-very smooth no issues-did a free inspection of car as well . TALKED TO DINAN BUT THEY JUST SAID EVERYTHING IS PERFECT GET IT ALL JUST SALES NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THEIR END.

Just muffler

And I wish it were a bit quieter but I'm 53 and when dog walking neighbors stare as I inch out of driveway I feel a little imature and the sound is annoying if I drive in D5 and it keeps going thru 2000 rpm drone around town as I accelerate after slowing down or stopping so I gues S mode is good anyway!

Sounds great. I think I'm gonna do the intake, ECU, and pully when it comes out. Should feel pretty sweet after those few mods.
Thanks for sharing.

Am I dreaming?
I got a Dinan tune a week ago. After I pick up, I noticed small changes on throttle response and liner power etc.

But about a week later, I noticed so much different now.
Car feels lighter, quicker, more powerful feel, more screaming and wanting to go faster.

Does Dinan software have any adapting time or I'm just dreaming from lat last pot I smoked about 8 years ago?

Dinan tune owners,
Please charm in and share your experience with Dinan tune a few weeks after installation.

Thanks in advance.

PS- I didn't want to make another "Dinan tune" thread so recycling this thread.

I noticed my tune right away when pulling away...As one said above, it isn't entirely a night and day difference. However, you are still able to notice the difference in throttle response and better torque around 4k rpms. I am happy with it, but every time I turn my car on now I get a warning that the service is overdue. I'm not sure if this is directly related to the ecu, but I need to get it handled.

i had the solfware flash a few weeks ago and planning to get the exhaust in a while from now. I am just wondering if I should get that intake and is it worth the money for it. LOL!!

I'll get a spring instead of intake.
Spring will do more for money than intake since most of aftermarket filters do great jobs.

Tommy, it can take a few days for the software to fully adapt. A week later? That seems long -- unless you weren't driving the car much.

My car was hustling right out of the shop, but it was more finely tuned several days later.

Does anybody know if the Dinan tune removes the rough cold start like the AA tune?

Thanks!

My car still acts strangely on cold start up, so I don't think it does darwin...Does anyone have an idea as to why my car would say service overdue after getting my tune done along with an oil change?

Max08e90,

You could check the car which service is over due. It will say which one you need to do. Use the I-Drive to check it.

I like the rough cold start up too.. It gives the M3 that muscle car feel in the morning.. Luckily the standard Dinan reflash does not change this.. I think it may be an option tho if you want to eliminate it.

I've lived with the reflash for about 2 months now I also have the Dinan intake and Amuse exhaust.. Mine was flashed "with exhaust" option checked. I do agree that the reflash has made acceleration much smoother--That is the most noticible thing about it.. I cannot determine whether or not it has made the car any faster.

I'm also one of those ppl that had experienced some sort of knocking at WOT occassionally and after the rreflash I wonlt say it's 100% gone but it has been greatly reduced.

I have experienced no problems after flashing the car..

No, just special . Seriously, I like it too, but I DON'T like the hesitation when starting, which is apparently common on our M3s. Do you folks still have that?
