Confirmation Needed on OEM Carbon Fiber Weaves

Can someone confirm:

Roof: 1x1 weave

OEM Side Mirrors, M Performance Rear Spoiler, Front Splitters are all 2x2 Weave?

Meaning on an all OEM car, the side mirrors, splitters and spoiler match, but are different than the roof?

Thanks!

Rob
(PS - I searched but cant get a definitive answer)

Confirmed. Roof is 1x1. OEM CF parts are 2x2.

This annoys me greatly.

+1
Depending on how anal someone is the parts are so far apart from one another it's not noticeable to someone that doesn't already know it's a different weave

What really chaps my ass is that the weave for the mirrors are going in the same direction instead of being symmetrical. It's not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it does bug me once in a while when I stare at the car, lol

We share the same level of detailed ANALysis regarding this stuff. This is on the list of reasons I don't have the mirror caps.

I'm pretty close to just selling them and getting my mirrors painted black/trading someone for Jet Black or Jerez Black mirrors. It's silly that these things costed north of 800 bucks if you buy it from your dealer + tax/freight.

They only cost that much if you pay full retail price for them. Check the vendors here for better pricing.

No I know, I was just saying from a retail standpoint when you buy the car and want to option it out at time of purchase. I have a pair that I got used from another member on here, lol.

Im so glad to be in the company of other anal BMW owners.

I have been agonizing about wanting OEM carbon fiber parts, but hesitant since they will not match the roof.

Just seems like an oversight from BMW.

ugh, what to do, what to do

I'm just nit picky. The mirror caps do look great on my car, lol.

Definitely get them or get aftermarket ones. I believe some of our vendors have 1x1 mirror caps.

Woah there. Let's not get crazy. I'll take mismatched weave over replica parts all day.

To those considering CF parts - The spoiler is too great looking not to have, as are the splitters.

Can't beat the OEM fitment - although, I'm sure some aftermarket ones fit just as well.

Fitment can be replicated. Quality control is another issue.

Most of the REP CF parts start yellowing 6-12 months after purchase.

A little clear bra film stops that from happening and also helps with protecting against little rocks/road dust chips.

1) Challenge USA has a 2x2 roof for sale for any M3.

Another fact that kills me is that for people who got the M performance steering wheel; i think should have gotten along a IND tri stitch boot and e-break and the M power handle break.

just little details that people won't notice but will notice.

i can't believe they want 890$ for the tri boot, e-break and handle.....

No way I'm removing my OEM roof. I'd rather buy replica CF bits and seeing as I all three OEM pieces, that's not happening either.

As for the Perf Wheel, the blue stripe on mine bothers me. I'm tempted to buy another one and get IND to change the stripe color. The shift boot and ebrake are fine. Changing those will make them look out of place. Consistency is key, but overall appearance carries the day.

A 2x2 roof for an e92 from challenge would be a one off product and cost a lot.
