True. Pondering on the harness bar as well

it's really, really nice. Looks nice, weighs little, gives you proper harness support.

I feel it's very superior to welding things into a mixed-use car

Cant argue with logic. Costs about half less as well...Unless I'm reading it wrong, I might not be able to run race harness with stock seats. Is that a real thing or am I making it up?

You'll never be allowed to run a 6 point harness with stock seats.

For a 4 point harness, the QuickFit Pro is definitely a solution. PCA/BMWCCA frown at it but it's DOT tested so they let it through

You make a great point here, even though is frowned upon, it is still a legal, viable, safe alternative.

Correct. No 6-point belts in seats that were not designed for it. And no, cutting holes in the seat bottom doesn't work.

Fortunately, the QFP can be made into a 6-point later on if you decide to get an aftermarket seat.

I would recommend the BK bar. I have one for my Corvette and it's an awesome piece. Their tech support is very helpful as well.

I'll give the BK bar a try, wont be a popular decision around here. Let's see what happens.

Why wouldn't it be popular? They're a well-known manufacturer who makes a good product. We can't all gut our cars with full cages.

I think in the BK DIY in my signature I linked to a PDF from Scroth which clearly states it is safer to run 4 points or 6 points with a harness bar than the 3 point

People get obsessively hung up with rollovers but those are just a small percentage of accidents

Because of the other quote below...

That's the only scenario I keep getting referred to, not that is impossible but I don't hear a lot of car rollovers during HPDE events, I'm sure it has happened and worse too. I want to think that I'll be safer driving around with a correctly fitted 4pt harness that will keep me from sliding around. I mean I had my left butt cheek chilling outside the seat.

Rollovers are quite rare. I'd bet they're well under 1% of all HPDE accidents (which are already fairly uncommon). In that situation, the car itself should be able to handle a rollover and not instantly kill you.

Their attitude is quite ignorant IMO. Rather than giving people the ability to run a harness bar and 4-points, which would drastically reduce the chance for injuries in 99%+ of all HPDE incidents and still provide extra protection in a rollover, they're instead forcing everyone to run the OEM 3-point belts. Moronic.

Agreed. Not sure how nationally recognized organizations would embrace such attitudes towards safety gear. Is not like I'm trying to find a loophole or a cheat but my impression is that this is exactly how they percieve it.

So finally mounted the nittos on the track wheels, I think it gave it a track car look.
Mounted another set of wheels but with hoosiers on them 295 flavor and the fit was perfect, no pics of that yet.
Car got a tune, removed cats today, probably dyno again Monday. Was debating for a bit to run a proper splitter but decided against as I still have much to learn and push before aero becomes an issue.
Also, wife got me an early father's day present!
Everything is coming right along for Summit Point later this month.

The wheel/tire setup definitely looks purposeful. Nice choice.
