Works great with the HARROP SC. The U.K. Pipercross website states 30% improved airflow compared to oem.

Not that this thread ever went anywhere these last seven years, but I thought I'd report back and provide a status update. I put over 50,000 miles on my Pipercross Performance air filter and it served me very well. It endured various washings and vacuumings as well as almost 7 years of serious Harrop SC duty and lots of WOT.
Unfortunately the foam body of the filter has now started to degrade and I think I can see foam particulates migrating through the filter wall. Consequently, I've replaced it and gone back to the BMW OEM filter. The Pipercross air filter increased seat of the pants horsepower on my car by a noticeable amount possibly because the exhaust primary cats are removed and a it was paired with high flow cats (200 CPSI) that come on the M3 World X-Pipe. If I had to guess it's at least 10 to 15 rear wheel horsepower gain. But that's a guess and based only on my calibrated buttometer. Moreover, the Pipercross air filter increases induction noise volume significantly. Again it's hard to say, but I estimate about 25% more induction noise volume compared to the new OEM air filter. Having driven the car with the Pipercross filter for 7 years (with and without the Harrop SC) and then switched back to a new OEM air filter, the differences in power and induction noise were obvious. I didn't go with another replacement Pipercross because I'm considering selling the car and wanted to go back to the stock air filter. Anyway, here's two pics of the outside and inside of that tired and well used Pipercross screamer air filter.. IMO it was great value for money and owes me nothing. .
