Glad you are ok. What an interesting feeling that I hope not many have the experience of having. Also, X6 vs M3, depends on your usage. Also, if you feel safer in the X vs the M choice made.

Try to test drive an X6 for a couple days. See if you like it.

Glad to hear that you are OK. German engineering is no joke. I say get another M3!

*touch wood* I wouldn't mind [safely!!!!] totalling my M3 (preferably in late June) because that would mean that I could get a 6MT and do European Delivery again.

Totally differant cars, so nothing anyone can say should help you make up you mind. Buy what best fits your priorities (should have much overlap between your two choices). Good luck with the decision.

I was thinking about getting an X6 when I was getting my M3 but thought I would regret not getting the M3. After having my M3 for two years I still love the car and am really considering buying out the lease but still thinking about getting an X6 or X5 M when my lease is up.

I would say get a used X6 M if a new one is out of your budget. If no X6 M, then get another M3. I would not get a X6 35i over any M3, sedan, coupe or convertible.

Wow, I remember you just got your car.

Glad to hear you're okay, nobody was hurt, and I hope your insurance rates don't take a hit. I guess that's the only (potential) downside of your car being totaled (if you're not hurt).

I owned an X6 35 and X6 50i before my E92 M3..

You are definitely comparing apples to oranges...No way you'd be happy with the 6 banger coming from an M3...

PM me if you want to talk more...The x6 50i was a beast, but it's a hulking behemoth at that. Tough for me as a daily driver in some ways too...

Anyways, X6 is useless as an on road vehicle and even more useless as an offroad vehicle. Worst of both worlds.

Well stated on Top Gear (one of my favorite shows on earth). Start around 2:30 if you don't have time:

Have both and enjoy either that I'm driving (obviously the M more). Use the X6 more as my DD and for long trips, fun to drive and handles great. Good luck with the decision and glad to hear you came out alright.

Sorry about your M3. And good thing no one was hurt!

I would say take into account what you use your vehicle for. If the X6 offers more convernience for your activities, go for it. Plus, you already had an M3, so why not try something new?

really sorry to hear about your M, glad to hear that your ok in one piece. As far as your next ride why not get the new M5. I'm not sure if you prefer an SUV or a sedan.

Thanks all for the comments and the well wishes!!! :-) I've decided that I'm just getting into another M3 same specs, but this time around with Black leather and DCT. If the numbers work out well then Boom!

I must say that over the past couple of days, when i think fo the impact - I realize just how lucky I was to not get hurt at all AND, most importantly, that I also did not hurt others. Definitely had an Angel watching over me. I'm a pretty safe and defensive driver on the road, never road race and drive "at a distance" all the time. But despite all that, it still happened to me. I do not wish this experience upon anyone and hope that if there is anyone that does speed out there, text messages while driving, occasionally drives above the limit - Keep it on the track

I think you are making a wise decision to get another one. You are in one piece, even if your car is not. I am a huge fan of black on black (very biased).

Your story makes me feel pretty good about the safety features in our wonderful autos.
