Question for those that had European Delivery (ED)

The pricing for the 2012 M3 is out (Sticky Thread above).

Base (US entry);
M3 Coupe - $59,900
M3 Convertible - 68,500

European Delivery;
M3 Coupe - $55,705
M3 Convertible - 63,750

My question is what difference in price (ball park number will be fine) have you M3 Drivers that made the ED experienced?

I know it is a great experience to make the ED (I've visited Die Welt in 2009), I am just curious what price difference there is and what other charges are added in the end i.e. delivery here in North America.

Thanks Fellows ...

and Happy Motoring

Cheers,

Rolf-Dieter

Another forum has a Euro delivery sub-forum with a wealth of information and a Wiki. Google "Euro delivery forum" or "Euro delivery wiki" and it should come to the top.

When I did ED last year I was offered US delivery at invoice and ED at 500 over invoice. You should be able to come close to that I would think. The difference should be close to the difference between ED and US base invoice give or take 500. You might have to do a lot of calling around to get a smokin' deal like that though.

Cut an extra 7% on that ED price (including options and packages) above and that's about the invoice price. Add $500 or so to that and that should be the real ED price if you order thru one of the forum dealers.

Thank you ...

SlamMan & Technic

My dealer advises that Canadian prices will only be available in September, I guess I will ask them the question then and compare the price difference between Canadian entry and European delivery.

I like to pick up my next car in München or Stuttgart then take a 4 week trip thru Germany and Italy

For pricing, you start with US MSRP. US invoice is ~7% below US MSRP. ED MSRP = US invoice. ED invoice is ~7 below ED MSRP. This is for just the base car. All options are at US pricing. There is no ED discount for options when doing ED.

I was able to work with Ryan @ Steve Thomas and get a great price of a few hundred over ED invoice on my e93 M3. Of course, I turned around and spent for than the ED/US difference on the vacation but driving on 12-14 passes in the Alps was worth it. Oh man, was it worth it.

Yes, there are discount in options/packages/Individual when doing ED if you buy from the right forum dealer.
