I was going down a main road when the driver of a plain ol C class drove by on the opposite lane and gave me a thumbs down sticking his hand out of the window. I don't think it was anyone I knew and it was just so random. If I had caught it earlier I would have just flipped him the bird as we crossed each other.

If I saw a nice C63 AMG I would give it a thumbs up regardless of what car I drive. I don't understand why a C300 driver would out of no where give me a thumbs down. It was just so random. I guess he was burned by a douchebag M3 driver.

Simple. Because the C63 engine's power and sound are among the car's greatest strengths, so it's natural for C63 drivers to flaunt that. Similar exhibitionism is probably common among M3 drivers too.
