2009 E90 M3 - Whats your take on this car?

hey guys,

Im currently car shopping because my lease is about to be up on my 335 and have been looking into E90 M3's pretty seriously.

I was on a used car search engine and came across a cleannnn 2009 E90 M3 AW/Extended Beige fully loaded MDCT, 18's. The interior looks like its never been sat in but this car happens to have 49,XXX miles! How is that possible in one year? Obviously this car has no warranty but the car seems to be in excellent shape. They are asking $45,000 but im sure i can get it for less. This combination is nearly impossible to find on the used market.

What's your opinion on this car? Good buy or bad buy? I would only be keeping this car for about 2-3 years.

Up to 2 years, no? If it was purchased right when 2009 model year when active back in 2008, and it's 2011.5 model year right now in 2010, then up to 2 years, right?

Mileage seems a bit high though, I would avoid. My old 2008 with 28k miles already had been running into a million reliability issues purchased brand new, and I would NEVER, repeat, NEVER, and I say again, NEVER buy a used E9X M3 without some sort of warranty.

. My friends 08 m3 has over 50,000 miles with no faults

You know, M3 leases are really good now. I would not be surprised if you could get M3 for what you are paying on the 335.

You just found my old car. PM me for info.

I ordered it in July of 2008 and took delivery early in October 2008.

The car has Dinan engine software and front monoballs, SS brake lines and double maintenence schedule (7500 mile oil changes). It has the DCT software updates as recent as June of this year. New PS2s and a new windshield.
I drove the car almost exclusively highway.

It was my daily driver for one year in Oswego NY and one year down in Allentown area of PA. I traded it due to end of lease and a wish for a 6sp car. I had a LOT of complaints about the Dual Clutch Transmission software that were completely (finally) remedied just prior to me turning it in.


Its a damn nice car that was maintained well.

M3 Leases can be had for the same payments as a 335???? Whats a well optioned E90 M3 lease going for right now? 36 months, 12K miles.

The transmission was dialed in by the time I turned it in. I just wish BMW had done that 18 months earlier.

If you want to know the lease payments, go to BMWUSA and plug in the numbers. You can compare to the 335. The best deals are on verts.

no. the residual is low on E90. a fully loaded E90 with zero down, is around 850 plus tax.
