I doubt your VF map is gone (or any DCT or servotronic tunes you have). Are you sure you just didn't use a different key? I've done that much to my chagrin.

How did you have your battery tenderer connected to your car? Under the hood or directly? How old is the battery?

Correct, tunes and coding changes won't be lost. OP, I think you grabbed the other key. Or the key battery is dead.

Nope same key but the bat. On the key was dead!!! The bat tender was plugged on to the terminals under the hood like I said the car started right away the bat was fully charged but my settings was gone, drove all morning today, feels normal I'll try the bat tender again now that I'm thinking can I lose this settings because the Bat on the key was dead?

My car lost all of the settings on the battery tender when the battery in the key fob was failing. At least I think that is the correlation. New watch battery and everything appears to be fine.

When it's not the battery of your key fob...
Than it's next...
Said it before on this forum best way to charge battery with a battery tender is directly on battery in trunk, this is my CTEK battery tender in action, last year it was more than 4 months connected due to the long winter here in Belgium, after this car started perfect and with a battery in top condition !
The connection takes 10 sec. with the central connector,so easy,so quick, and prolongs the lifetime of the battery .
Pic of my CTEK charging ......

This is fine and dandy but there is nothing wrong with charging under the hood with a standard battery tender.

That is my set up and it works great. The battery in the fob is the culprit in many cases....

Agreed with fine and dandy, but i can tell you the next...
When i bought the CTEK i started to charge under the hood with the same battery and still is, after the long wait of 3 days the green led was on...3 days !
Than i tried in trunk with the central connector directly on battery with" O "rings directly on +&- pole....result was...after 4 hours ....green led on !
So for me personal there is a huge difference by my personal experience of where to charge with a battery tender

It's definitely because the battery on your key was dead. Has happened to me before. Drove around for a bit with the key in and the next time I started up everything was back to normal.
