Question about cold start sound

Does the RPM stay the same when you remove the cold start via a tune or does it actually stay lower than before the removal? What contributes to the quieter noise after the cold start delete if the RPM does stay the same?

The noise would be reduced. I would only remove it if you have test pipes or an x-pipe.

The cold start sequence runs at a higher idle RPM. After the sequence, RPM drops a few hundred. That would make the sound less...

That's what I wanted to know. So leaving the cold start in place will make the car warmup faster? Don't really care about the loudness so if there are no other advantages of removing cold start other than the car being quieter I think I would keep. I have test pipes and the tune I got came with the cold start removal. Is it significantly louder with cold start?

Cold start is designed to warm up the cats quicker. Since you no longer have cats the cold start essentially does nothing.

Yea, keeping it will make the car significantly louder upon startup. Removing it will make startup quieter and smoother.

I really dislike the cold start. Much better without.

Hmm.. I was going to have it added back it since I loved the sound of the stock exhaust with it. I only have test pipes with the rest stock. I never got a chance to hear it with the cold start cut I got it tuned first.
