I just purchased an 08 alpine white m3 convertible. E92. Don't bash I am new to this.

Car is mint only 29k miles on it. My warranty will be up in September.

What do you suggest I get and at what price possible an extra 3 years full? Is it worth it? How much and should I get an aftermarket warranty at a cheaper rate or get it straight from
Bmw?

This is my first bmw any advice will help me out tremendously thanks!

FYI, your car is an E93.

Just shop around for the best prices. Call Ryan at Steve Thomas BMW for a good price on a BMW one.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum.

I agree with THE TECH ... I would check out and price both once the warrenty expires there are quite a lot of European car shops around that will service your car at a lower rate. I never took out an extended warranty on our e28 now 25 year old 5435is that my daoughter still drives and enjoys.

Perhaps if you are planning to take one out I recommend you get your car inspected at BMW with that in mind they would I am sure advise you what major work (if any) is expected down the road. Also check sites like this one here and as THE TECH pointed out shop around.

There have to be plenty of ex. BMW employees that opened there own shop. Let your fingers do the walking thru the yellow pages I am sure you find one or two.

Good Luck.

PS another good spot to check out would be previous service records of the car you purchased. If you don;t have them at hand see if you can get hard copies from a BMW dealership (should be on there computer system for your VIN number).

Speaking of VIN number ,,, check this site it is free it will give you a breakdown of all the optional equipment that is on your car.

Open this site ----> Then just add the last 7 digest of your VIN Number

Aftermarket Warranty Experience

I bought a 2004 Audi Allroad in 2008 with 36k miles, just out of factory warranty. I purchased a 3/36k warranty at CarMax, and over 1.5 years had nearly 15K in warranty work done. They paid twice for front bushings at 1k each, leaky air bags twice, at nearly 1.5k, oil seals at $500, and contributed 6k for a new transmission (total was 7k at dealer), plus a host of other issues.

Always done at dealer, never any issues, always got loaner.

It was an exclusionary policy.
