Some technical specs that he gave..

- TT RS 350hp from a 5cyl

- Q5 SUV is based on the A4 quattro not on the VW Tiguan and shares nothing with the Tiguan

- New A6 use a all aluminum chassie and nearly all aluminium suspension to reduce the car weight in average by 100kg compared to competetive models of other brands

- 2008 Audi market the cleanest running diesel engine in the world

- the A1 will be available as full electirc car with plug in technology

- The 2008 Q5 is the first DSG equipped car with longitudinal mounted engine in Audis modle range

- possible that Audi starts production in the USA

- Audi slowly goes away from all models looking the same with a single frame front image... beginning with the Q models receiving more marked vertical struts in the grill. The sports models will receive flatter and wider single frame grills. But according to design chief Stefan Sielaff this will be a slow process.

A7 = CLS fighter. Here's official Audi sketch and a chop based on it:

It looks like Audi's sports division QuattroGmbH will be very busy in the spring/summer of 2009, a total of four models alone coming out of their stable.

Can Quattro cope with such a production cycle?

Didnt they make the decision to increase their production capacity?

I know this is a BMW forum but this sort of info is not only of importance to them but must concern BMW themselves as these are all very exciting models.

An aluminum chassis in the next A6, that will not only cancel the weight advantage that the 5 series currently has over the A6 but will allow for a more balanced and stiffer chassis.

When you hear the massive improvements that the new A4 is believed to have over the old model one can only speculate that this A6 will be the cream of the crop.

It's fine saying it and an altogether different thing actually carrying it out.

I agree. If Audi focuses on weight saving it will work greatly in their favour!

Well that's true! here's the information that was on worldcarfans.com:

Audi subsidiary, Quattro GmbH, is responsible for production of Audi's low volume performance cars such as RS models, S-Line models as well as Audi Exclusive customization packages and lifestyle accessories. In 2007 the number of vehicles coming out of the Quattro GmbH stable included 5300 RS4's, 4000 R8's, 50.000 Exclusive models plus 300.000 S-Line packages making a total of 360.000 vehicles. Compared to only 2500 vehicles back in 2000, its fair to say demand for bespoke and exclusive products from Quattro GmbH are in high demand.

According to German enthusiasts magazine, Auto Motor und Sport, Werner Frowein, Director of Quattro GmbH, stated slight increases in production will take place in 2008 despite their position of always producing enough product just below demand. Currently, production of the Audi R8 mid-engine sports car has been increased to maximum capacity of 27 additional units per day, which will continue throughout 2008, giving a total production of 5500. Also planned for 2008 are 5000 RS 6's, only 1000 RS 4's since production is concluding, and the addition of the 12-cylinder diesel Q7.

Sounds good, but it gets even better. Typically, RS cars are released in the last two years of a vehicle's six year life cycle, however, quattro GmbH have now changed this policy which will see future RS models coming to market after the first two years. Although it is unknown which RS model this new production schedule will apply to first, we can speculate based on recent spy photos that it will most likely be the TT-RS followed by the RS 5. Additionally, with consideration to Quattro GmbH's policy of having only one RS model on the market at a time, this accelerated cycle of RS cars explains why we have been seeing spy photos of the simultaneous development of RS cars (linked above).

I never realised just how many cars in total passed through their hands, 360,000 must be close to that on BMW's M division. Admittedly everyone of those are fully assembled M cars but still it shows that at Quattro the capacity is there for them to handle.

Audi is finally copying BMW M's model, release a super version of a car within the first 2 years of a product's life cycle.

Maybe, they will also learn how to make cars handle better from BMW M too. And learn to build better engines.....and make price it similar to the equivalent M cars. Audi has a long way to go.

T-Bee,

Did you read the comments that HKZ786 posted. Audi will soon be building in the US so you will see the prices plummet as there will be no import TAX due to being a US manufacturer just like Merc and BMW. If things go the same as Europe then Audi prices will be the same as BMW for you lot, surely that's a good thing.

I agree it's about time Audi brought their RS models out a lot sooner, again better for all of us.

Finally, mate you are taking the piss, you know that the RS models handle just as good, you might not like the way they go about it but the facts speak for themselves, the RS4 and the M3 are roughly identical on the track. What Audi are intending to you by swapping steel with aluminum should benefit not only the handling which I might add the RS6 is already better than the equivalent M5 but will also benefit economy, something which BMW are ahead on, partly down to engine efficiency but mostly to do with only driving the one axle.

T-Bee,

The figures speak for themselves, if you can't making a RS handle that's your problem and not the car.

An old saying, 'A bad workman blames his tools'.

On one track on one day the RS4 posted a similar time to an M. You are pushing a rope with your Audi propaganda.......

Understeering pig....the essence of the current RS cars.
