Wow! This car will scorch the road-course. The 1LE is already quicker than the M5/6 with 135 less hp and the ZL1 is already quicker than the AMG Black. Recaro's look nice too.
Definitely not for badge whores. If you're complaining about the fact that it's not luxurious enough then you just don't get it.

So this is going to slot between the SS and the ZL1. Any idea what the price is going to be?

You can't compare to a M5 or M6. This is more of a competitor to a Boss 302 LS. It's a Z06 Camaro which is a very cool concept and depending on its price could be the best track car under 70k.

Honestly who cares about the interior. Not what this car is about. Although the suede and recaros look fantastic. This car won't even be a daily driver. To be honest it is way to hardcore for most to buy, purpose built track car. For instance, it has one speaker only because it is mandated by law for the seatbelt chime. You can even delete air conditioning for ultimate weight savings.

Seeing as how that car's turbocharged, good luck with taking it to the track as-is (unless BMW has seriously addressed soak; I don't know, they may have). Plus, this car will not only be slightly faster. I'd imagine it will turn out some absolutely stellar numbers in a relatively composed fashion.

In this car, that would be an upgrade. They should offer that as a paid option.

They haven't been for a while. The Vette (for a while), the BOSS variants and the Al block Shelby, the ZL1, 1LE... Hell even the lowly 5.0 has had an impressive showing, for low $30s. The Challenger 392 is an excellent car for its purpose as well. The Americans haven't been playing around for a couple of years now.

There was probably very little they could do with that. Maybe the next gen Camaro will be less "function follows form". That would also allow them to take a chunk out of that awful weight figure.

GM could price this car up with the ZL-1 IMO if they wanted to. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case but hopefully they price it right around the BOSS LS, which I believe is just at the $50k mark.

this car with a heads/cam/exhaust/tune will be a MONSTER.......will crap on many cars that will be wondering what just happened.

even stock it will rip. Guessing mid to low 120 trap speeds stock and that will go up rapidly with aftermarket.

On paper it appears to have trumped the Boss 302. Looks like the pony wars are back big time.

the new camaro is a hot car, one dislike is that the "beltline" is so high that when you sit in it you can hardly see over the doorsill the visability through the rear window is also bad. a rag top would solve this problem

Well it sounds like this thing isn`t even coming with a sound system, so I don`t think buyers are going to be all that concerned with the interior materials. If you`re driving this thing like you should you can`t afford to look down at the dash anyways .

I guess you're right. I didn't read the full article or that the car was intended for track racing. In that case they should have got rid of the damn sidemarkers and licence plate holder, it adds way too much weight for the car to perform well on the track

I'm sure it will be fast, but the real question is...why would anyone pick this car over Corvette C7?

people will kill themselves by snapping their own necks while driving

I'm pretty sure your friend has more fun in a C6 Z06.

GM and Chrysler interiors are beyond horrific. No chance I'd ever buy a Camaro, unless it transformed into a robot and and protected my family and house.
