oem wheel coating stripping...
Is there any way to repair this. When cleaning my car I noticed this and it just looks horrible. Id rather not get new wheels so what are my options? Is there a powder coating process that can be used to give a restored OEM apperance or do I just pick a new color and have them powder coated?

I have a similar problem with my wheels. I've considered trying plasti-dip - it's diy, fairly inexpensive, and it just peels off if I decide to have them properly refinished later.

Lost the clear coat. Aviation grade paint stripper with a paint brush to strip the area. Do not sand the wheel!!
Local auto parts should have some Duplicolor clear coat. Touch up let it dry and polish. |

Can you be more specific. Do I strip the whole face of the wheel? It seems like it's a silver/steel like coating. A clear coat will do it? I was gonna powder coat the wheels because of this so if it works I might try this in order to delay the clear coating by a bit

The OEM wheels are clear coated. You can strip the clear coat and then re-clear coat it. I'd probably have a wheel repair place do the work rather than DIY.
