Hankook TD purchase

Hey guys

I am trying to buy a set of Hankook TD hard compound and are having a hard time finding good price and in stock. Hankook website price is 341 for 285 width but other vendors quoted me 380 per wheel without tax/shipping. Any idea where i can find them for good price?

Thanks
George

I am using it as my daily setup with about 6 trackways in the next 3 months. Don't really want to bother with switching around, and I want something fast enough. Soft compound wears out too fast, doesn't it?

Yes but you are better off with RS3s then. Hard compound SUCKS on a road coarse. Made that mistake once because no soft compounds were available. Never again.

Depends on the tracks you are running. On nice surfaces like Buttonwillow you can get 4-5 days from soft. You can also destroy them in one day at places like Autoclub Speedway and Big Willow. It's nearly impossible to wear through hards even after 10 days. However, I was all over the track the very first session I ran hards and they didn't get any better.

I'm running the hard compound right now because I couldn't get ahold of the softs. They aren't quite as grippy as the softs, but they are far better than any street tire. Tons more grip than AD08R's and Toyo R888's.

do you run it on the street? how many miles can you get out from it? I am considering NT01's as well as they are WAY cheaper (1000 for the set) compare to TD Hard (1600 for the set).

$1600 sounds way overpriced. I remember paying $1300 or so direct for my first set of softs and even that's overpriced. I was lucky enough to get my current hard set for $900 new from a one-time hookup and then bought a set of softs from someone who never mounted them for $600. I'd definitely go with NT01's if they have sizes you run unless you can find TD's at a similar price.

As far as the TD hard compound goes, I drive them to and from the track, but that's it. They don't grip well without heat in them and seem to get slippery when it's wet.

do you mind to share the source to get these TD's with me? i would really appreciated it. I called 2 vendors and they are asking for $380 per tire and shipping on top is another $100. Seems like they are marking it up due to the low availability

You should just run rs3's. What's a couple of seconds? You'll get 4-5 track days and 10k miles out of them

I would consider the Bridgestone RE71R. Supposed to be better than the R-S3's these days.
