Limerock M3 to GTS inspired racecar or Clubsport?
Hello All,
I just purchased this 1 of 200 Limerock M3. It's currently set up as a street legal track car with full cage, gutted interior, race seats and coilover suspension. It does still have everything else including AC, Navigation and generally all the tech less radio. I have a F80 ZCP in manual that i use as a daily, but for this car I want it to be a GTS looking track car build. I haven't made up my mind if i should go full fledged track car or dial it back some and make it more of a Clubsport GTS?? I'm super excited about the car and would love to get feedback. 1st phase of Mods: Replace front rotors to OEM plus and install HAWK racing pads - Completed Paint rocker panels to match car - Pending Install GT4 carbon fiber front spoiler - Pending GTS rear wing - Pending Last edited by bluemgic; 02-15-2020 at 08:42 PM.. |

If it is a dedicated track car the first thing I'd do is ditch the awful brakes for a stoptech or brembo kit. The brakes are the Achilles heel of the e92 M3.

IDK why anyone would do this to a LRP car. Just get a beat up car, gut it and wrap it in orange. But I digress.
I would convert it to GTS as with the Fire Orange paint, it'd be as close to a GTS as possible in the US. Maybe sprinkle some GT4 sauce on it.

I've seen this car for sale quite a few times. If I remember correctly, it has insanely low mileage. Definitely an interesting story somewhere why the build was taken in this direction. I'd be curious to know the history.
Looks like it will be a fun car though, OP! And if your F80 is gonna fill all the daily duties, you can really go as crazy as you want with this one!

Thanks man yea i'll probably end up somewhere between a clubsport and a racecar, meaning it will still have AC, glass windows, stock body panels, but also full cage and all racing safety items. |

While I gravitate more towards the Clubsport/CS builds, it seems like this car is already pretty dedicated to the track and with what it has already, it seems like a proper track build is already in progress. If you truly track it, I think that would be the most rewarding and fun direction for it, and make the most sense given your ZCP DD. A CS type build would be just another street car that competes with your F80.

The suspension is Ground control coil overs which is Eibach springs on Koni shocks. They are pretty good for what they are, but I will be upgrade them if I turn the car into a race car. |

I would make a GTS type build, you have a very good base.
Good photos on the circuit, it looks like you had a lot of fun man

Will have to check mine. The uneven fire orange paint on the unibody may look like rust from so far away.

Judging from the colors of the bolts elsewhere, it would be hard to believe that is rust.

Lol no that is not corrosion or rust, the car is not torn apart just missing the cover underneath thanks though.
