Have had worse Saturdays...

...just picked up my E92 M3.

Previously had an E46 M3...but WOW. This is going to be the hardest 1200 miles in my life...

Not into modding - but have my eyes on that BMW Performance Wheel...

I would love to get rid of those yellow turn signal lenses on the front bumper. Any thoughts on where to find clear ones?

Thanks!

They are the standard 19's...nothing custom so far...

I believe he meant the performance wheel... and yes, they are available. Been thinking about it too, but I haven't due to the fact you lose the M thread colors. I keep trying to tell myself it's a small detail, but that is what I like the most: small details.

Very nice ride too, btw. Nice Saturday!

Seen it in person at the Welt..wasn't that impressed. I'd stick with the M wheel. The performance wheel and other BMW Performance products seemt to be be more for the non-M cars.

Was an option from the dealer - others can tell you more about the details and options (search), but the short version is ceramic is a bit more expensive, but keeps the heat out much better. Worth it to me.

I'm not much into mod'ing either and prefer stock or OEM parts (as they come avail). Currently, not much from BMW yet, except the wheel. ...I did have to do the V1, though.

Ceramic tint might help w/ radio reception. I did metallic tint on my last E46 M and my FM/AM reception got noticeably worse. Ceramic is supposed to be better about that.

Haven't gotten into the details on tinting yet - am meeting the 'tinting man' next week, so will go over the options. Agreed, ceramic seems the way to go by all accounts.

Will keep you posted!

Thanks - I am after all the feedback I can get on the wheel. The fact that it is a BMW M part is a big plus - but will definitely need to see it in person first. The alcantara finish isn't exactly to my taste...

I will have a little search for the clear indicators in the photo galleries. I agree that they would clean the look up a little. Let me know if you see any available!

V1? As in Valentine? I had a setup like that on my E46, but to be honest I don't know if it was worth the money for the sake of something 'foreign' on my dash :-).

That said, I am new to the US and don't really know how brutal the law enforcement is here yet. It *can't* be worse than the UK though.

Yes = Valentine. There is much to read about the V1 versus all else but it seemed most were quite pleased with Valentine so I went with it. So far I love it. It is ultra sensitive, but it has filter modes (I'd rather have false alarms than miss the one bogey that happens to be hiding behind them).

Radar detectors are legal in all but one state and DC - AFAIK. So you're fine in Texas. The hardwire option helps the dash/wires issue and it really is a clean DIY. Mine is tucked up right next to the RVM.

Get some HREs!!! haha j/k Congrats on the new vehicle... I love the Color and to me it is the most sophisticated one out of all the choices. It just gives you that luxury and serious tone... Those first 1500 miles are well worth it though!

For me i still have my E46 M3 and am just waiting for the warranty to deplete. In the meantime I am keeping my eye out at the Dealerships too haha.

I still have so much respect for the E46 - it was only moving to a different country that forced my hand in turning mine back into BMW. I still look at them fondly when I see one on the road...it truly is a stunning car. Slightly jealous of guys I see on M3Post who have both :-)

Good luck shopping around for an E90 - there are definitely deals to be had at times like these.

Ooops, I completely misread you - my bad. Yes - the wheel is available from various places (like Turner Motorsport) and BMW itself.

Check it out here: http://accessories.bmwusa.com

There are loads of videos on YouTube etc of it in action. I can't make up my mind whether it is the coolest thing I have ever seen....or just a bit too flashy.

Great looking car. Glad to see another M3 in Houston. Check out our tint thread in the Southwest regional forum for some discussion of tint options in Houston.
