Am I the only one that didn't order NAV???

It looks like everyone ordered Nav.
Those that ordered Nav have you used BMW Nav before?

I HATE the BMW Nav, I think it's the worse Nav I've ever used!

IMO I think it's worse than my E39 M5 Nav.

I have a BMW Navi and it is not as good as my Acura Navi, but OK (kinda in the better-than-nothing category). It was very useful during ED in Germany and OK in the States. Yes, I would order it again.

I'm planning on no nav. I'm quite happy with my Nuvi, which offers a ton of flexibility. I plan on keeping the car for a while, and I think that factory navs in older cars look dated as standards improve.

I ordered it on my new e90 M3. I have the nav in my e46, and i like it. the only "con" is that it doesn't put street names on the roads in perspective view, so if i need that kind of info i have to switch to view in travel direction.

You must be joking, no? The E39 M5 nav sucks (both versions). The 3 series nav is way better in every respect. It almost doesn't get dizzy in traffic circles

I have navi in my 550. I was not expecting much when I got it, given the bad reviews it generally receives, and at first I did not like it at all compared to the Acura system in my wife's car. Now that I have used it for a couple of years I actually prefer it to the Acura system. It is not all that intuitive and takes some getting used to but I think it is fine and for me and preferable to an aftermarket system. I ordered it for my impending M3 without hesitation.

I've never understood why people hate iDrive, or why it gets the amount of bad press it does. My one and only complaint with it on my 335 is that it's pretty slow to change screens, which I understand is much less of a problem on the 5 series (faster processor, I presume). Take a look at the dash of a modern Infiniti and you quickly realize why the concept makes sense... I don't want 100 buttons, just a dial, thanks.

It's part of the technology pack. So that's why most people will have it/have it.

Yea didn't really like the double hump design either, but for the edc, and m settings I saw it as a neccesary evil. My stealership tried to load the car up when they emailed me the specs, so I immediately called them to change them. You probally won't find one now without the tech package unless you order it without.

I'm not joking! The E39 M5 I had with nav is MUCH Easier to use and navigate in the menus!

I think the Nav on my E60 M5 sucks and HATE IT! It actually got me lost in NYC it kept on telling me to turn AFTER I already passed the street, it added 30 minutes to my commute LOL.
I actually never use it now. It truly is the worse nav I've ever used! I've had nav in - MB (Which also sucks but not as bad), Acura, Lexus, Chevy and Jeep.

So needless to say I ordered my M3 without nav but I notice everyone ordered it. That's why I'm wonding how many people have actually used the BMW Nav before ordering it.

Agreed, you prob won't find a M3 w/o tech unless ordered. Dealers order cars loaded because it's more profit for them!

No Tech package here.

I've got EDC in my E60 M5 and I always leave it off, M button is cool but do you really need it?

The ONLY option I wanted was Comfort Access but it was part of the pkg and I was really against everything else in the pkg.

None of the E90 M3 demo cars have the ZTP (that I have seen) but they do have Nav. The dead giveaway was no EDC, which comes with ZTP. I don't like the Nav hump either, so I'm ordering without. I would probably get MDM if it was available as a stand alone option like EDC.

I've gone back and forth on getting the nav (and double hump) for weeks now, but I've finally decided that I will go double hump and with that comes the Nav. Currently, I have the Garmin Nuvi 660 and love it so I suspect that my experience may suffer with the BMW nav a bit, but I wanted the Tech package so I'm going to have to make it work.

No NAV for me either. Pretty much a bare ultimate driving machine except for the ipod/usb adapter. You can say I'm a minimalist I promised my accountant (my wife ) that I would not go above $60k so if not for the gas guzzler, I would have come under ... CHEERS

single humper here

My AW car with extended leather is on the boat to the the west coast. It has no nav. I am pleased to get rid of the double hump and I drive. Thanks to BMW for the choice in the US market.

Really? I think the Nav in the Jeep was a lot better than the BMW Nav.
It's faster, more POI and easier to use.

I just think the hump is hideous. Too much fancy stuff just detracts from the point of having an M car.

couldn't disagree more. how does fancy stuff detract from having an M car? i guess it depends on what you consider fancy...either way, the hump is a necessary evil if you want the M button and MDM. i think it looks cool.
