Back to ///M3
Well, I'm back to an M3 coming from a 550i. The 550i was out of warranty and costing me a small fortune in repairs so went to a 2013 M3 Cab jet black with 6M with only 10k miles. I really missed stick and now that I have it again I'm loving it. Just feels good to "drive" the car. Probably will be my last manual so going to enjoy it.

I'm back as well after a two year break, just bought an 08 coupe with DCT. Had an E46 SMG that turned into a nightmare. Had an impeccable service history. Shortly after buying it the SMG went out, luckily the dealer took it back and refunded my money and I leased a Acura. This will be my 3rd M3....either I'm gluten for punishment or the 3rd times a charm.....

Congratulations OP - I made the same jump last year from a 550i manual to the E92 M3 with DCT.
Having spent a lot of time trying to decide which way to go, I know we made the right choice. It really is quite simple; if you want huge torque and lots of luxury features in a big (very heavy) car - then it's 550 all the way. If you enjoy driving and being connected to the experience along with the amazing sound of a V8 at full song, (especially through my akra exhaust), then it's M3 for sure. A small point many don't realize, but it made a difference to me, is that the 550 is now only available with xDrive in Canada, which means no four wheel steering. That, along with Adaptive Drive, was an amazing feature making the car track a corner like nothing else I've ever driven (including the M3). Last edited by Javelin; 03-22-2014 at 01:32 PM.. |
