End of E90 lease -> INFINITI G37x Coupe!

I traded in E90 328i to Infiniti and got a 2011 G37x Coupe w/ Premium [MSRP: 43920] for $365/mo [9% tax included]. The drive off fee was less than 600 [1st month payment/DMV/Doc/Tire fee etc] and no down payment but did 9 MSDs instead. The BMW had less than 20k miles and the condition was near new. I really wanted to ED/lease a Z4is when BMWFS had such a wonderful residual/MF rate but didn't, due to the RWD factor.

Anyone drives a G37x coupe here? Any feedback on this car other than the poor braking/steering feel than BMW?

I drove the coupe a few times. It's a solid car, has a sweet exhaust note, and is peppy as hell. Although it's not as responsive as a BMW, it's a step up from the 328 acceleration wise but a step down in handling. I won't even mention the 335 since it's still a leap ahead of the G37.

When I had the E90, I also had the Honda S2000. So.. some folks got more than 'ONE' car bud.

My dad's got one. It's definitely louder to drive in, the steering feel is just all right, and the interior feels cheaper. The brakes are very good, but too grabby. They are a bit difficult to modulate.

It's very fast But then again we're talking a 75 HP difference between my car and his

335i > G37 > 328i

Power is better on G37 but handling, balance and steering responsiveness are all better on the 328i. When the 335i comes into play, then you also get the addition of down low torque, and a much better and quicker transmission (ZF auto gearbox is one of the best in the world). All in all, a good upgrade but I would have found another $120/month to pony up on the 335xi.

Having driven a G37, I found it lacking severly in quite a few areas, I even liked the IS350 a lot better, at least it had an LSD stock; something the BMW / Infiniti don't.

you'll get better response on myg37.com or g35driver.com

The car is alright but handling is slightly less tight than the 335i and I hate the clutch on that car. Engagement point is so small it's like a button. Interior looks more modern but material feels cheaper for some reason. It's a good compromise for those that dont' want a 335i.

We tested a G37x sedan a few months ago. Wasn't that impressed with the interior, and the road noise was awful. I do like the look of the coupe a lot more and the exhaust note is very addicting.

Congrats on the new ride. Think you'll ever be back to BMW?

I drove the G37 quite a few times. Before driving it I was thinking about picking it up for my next car. Then I drove it and later on I drove the 335is. Needless to say the G37 got beat in every category except price. I almost switched to the ricer side but the 335is pulled my right back.

I agree. 328i's handling is Please don't mention the 335 bc WE ALL KNOW it is WAY BETTER than the G37.

Yes, it is little louder than 328i. Steering feel is okay but not great. I didn't add the leather option to 328i so the g37's interior is better to me. Hopefully the brake gets grabby after the break-in period.

(no infiniti hate, and no bmw love either

you'll find the seat heaters suck compared to bmw
you'll find the leather wears and shows cracks very soon with the inifiniti.
gas mileage will be lower since infiniti can never put DI on their cars
back seat leg/headroom horrible on infiniti coupe.

AC blows cold compared to bmw, though heat takes longer to heat up.
maint/repair costs .... lol if any will be lower then bmw.
NO RUNFLATS on Infiniti!
paint chips pretty easy on infiniti... though bmw isnt 4 stars either with their orange peel. do they have self healing paint on the infiniti's or did they stop that ?

obviously a bmw 335i is the winner... but the 2nd place would go to infiniti... and for saving 10G... everybody who decides between the two must weigh their options.

good luck with your new ride !

Totally true.. if I had a chance to lease a 335xi coupe for $360/mo w/o doing ED, I will take it over G37x.

Right, I picked the G37 bc the price is so cheap! MSRP was 43920 and dealer agreed at 39000!

Ahhh 335is!!

Great feedback! Thanks! I will watch out for leather wear/tear.

Hmmm. I think they did stop that self healing paint a yr or two ago but I will test it out after work and will let you know. haha

you're probably just trolling, but just in case - Altima = FWD underpowered POS. g37 = RWD. G37x equals awd 328 destroyer.
