Drew,
You and Adam were running great out there. The AWD guys had a bit of an advantage with the very dusty air strip, but once hooked up, you guys were moving! I will be in contact with Roman@ESS to come up with a permanent solution for "high-boost" applications to prevent manifold lift. Lot's of high boost cars have this issue, unfortunately it's never stated publicly too often. Tightie's car also had this same issue last year at a Speed District event. On my end, I was happy to say I was able to put down really well against some really fast cars, such as the full E85+Meth FFTEC 335i. You know the digits, hit me up if you need anything.Great chatting it up with you and Robert (Pencil Geek) yesterday. See you soon. Malek |

I was fortunate enough to get to ride with Drew for the run against the Alpha 7.5 GT-R! Drew's car pulls HARD! It makes my bolt-on M3 feel like a Camry. We were pulling on the GT-R until Drew shifted into 4th and manifold unseated.

problem is easily solved using T-bolt clamps. I am actually very surprised that they're at least not used on the compressor to intake connections (for aesthetic reasons alone!). Another solution would be to have beaded edges on the intake stacks that would totally prevent the couplers from coming dislodged. |

Thanks Malek, great meeting you finally, you are one of the coolest cats around and great at what you do. I really appreciate your help and support, without you there it would have been extremely difficult for me to get it going again. After you fixed it the first time, the first run I had with my buddies HPF 900HP M3, even though I jumped him pretty good at the start, lol, he said he still couldn't really reel me in before the half mile. The car was moving and he was extremely impressed. Thanks my man!

The factory manifold and TB's are designed for Natural Aspiration, they don't have bead rolled ends on the TB side. There is a minor rubber bead on the inside of the rubber coupler to ensure proper positioning of the factory coupler, but it is not enough to sustain high boost pressures. For standard S/C kits which run 5-7 PSI of boost, T-Bolt clamps are not necessary on the compressor to manifold connection. Even in Drew's case, T-bolt clamping those locations would not serve a functional purpose. |

We have run upgraded clamps on our high boost applications with success. In Drews case his rubber couplers have been worn a bit over time and the rubber lip on the factory connector we use to sit in the velocity stacks machined groove failed to hold. We will replace them, test some more and if needed look at some options to secure them even further.

Malek and I were discussing this at the event and it seems possible. It may be overkill too though. The valve cover bolts and the engine "hook" could be used as mounting points for the manifold.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I ran a VT600 kit, and that vid will be posted in the next day or two on bimmerpost's youtube channel, as well as being featured here on M3post. FWIW the VT600 did very well against some impressive cars, those vids will be posted as well.
