There are some good roads in Montgomery county towards Poolesville and towards Frederick rt 28 comes to mind that would not be as busy as Skyline drive for the holiday weekend and you wouldn't have to deal with 66.

That is going to be a bad weekend to go considering it is a holiday weekend. Regardless I will be out of town so I would not be able to make that date.

What does everyone think? We can bump it a week to mid Sept. Traffic may be bad so we will not be able to take advantage of the nice roads.

Let me know.

Thanks

I could also do either 9/19 or 9/20. If it's any other weekend, I'll have to pass and meet up with you guys another time.

I vote for the weekend after. Traffic should be light since everyone went out to spend their money over the holiday. I've created what has got to be the BEST route utilizing the absolute best roads in NoVA. Well maintained twisty back roads with very little traffic, few cops, as well as some unused highway (211).

The question is, where to start? Start on the highway, to the twisty roads, then to the awesome backroads or start on the backroads to the twisty roads then the highway last?

Here's the link to the route: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...8fe84d7f1e5199
You might have to zoom out to see everything.

Here's a sample of one of the roads:

So September 12th or 19th is my vote. I can't do the holiday weekend.

It may be best to insert a poll here....does anyone know how to do this? I really just want to finalize a date already so that we can begin planning.

Thanks

dont think its posible to insert a poll in a middle of a live thread.. maybe if you can just relist the names and their open dates then you can have an idea on where everyone stood.
